Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Starting against Philadelphia
Lindgren will start on the road against the Flyers on Thursday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.
Lindgren was inconsistent to close out January, as he picked up his first shutout win of the season on the road against the Kraken on Jan. 23 before settling for losses in each of his last two appearances. Across those two outings -- which came against the Canucks and Senators -- he went 0-1-1 with a 3.49 GAA and .881 save percentage. He didn't appear in either of the Capitals' last two games but will have a somewhat favorable matchup against the Flyers, who rank 23rd in the league with 2.78 goals per game.

The only year Ovechkin's missed that threshold was the shortened 2020-21 season. He's now at 39 points, 135 shots on net, 68 hits and a plus-17 rating through 37 appearances after putting away goal No. 878.

Capitals' Logan Thompson: Back in win column
Thompson turned aside 31 of 34 shots during Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Panthers.
Thompson has faced two of the league's best in Winnipeg and Florida in his last two outings and has surrendered eight goals on 63 shots during that span. The 27-year-old was a surprise start Tuesday given that Washington has employed a fairly strict rotation between Thompson and Charlie Lindgren to this point in the season, so fantasy managers should keep an eye on the workload to see if this was an aberration or an indication that Thompson may be on tap for a larger share of the workload moving forward.

Capitals' Logan Thompson: Saddled with loss
Thompson turned aside 25 of 30 shots faced during Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Jets.
