Senators' Shane Pinto: May play Saturday
Coach Travis Green said Friday that Pinto (undisclosed) could play Saturday in Boston, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.
Pinto has sat out the last seven games after he was injured Oct. 22 in Utah. The 23-year-old pivot has a goal and two assists in six games this season. Look for Zack Ostapchuk to come out of the lineup if Pinto returns.

Senators' Jake Sanderson: Mixed results in loss
Sanderson produced a power-play assist, four blocked shots, two PIM and a minus-3 rating in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Islanders.
Sanderson didn't have his best game defensively, but he was able to salvage it with the helper and blocks. The 22-year-old blueliner has been limited to just two helpers over his last eight games while taking a minus rating five times in that span. He's at nine points (eight on the power play) with 24 shots on net, 32 blocked shots, 11 hits and a minus-8 rating over 13 outings this season. It's not an ideal start to the year, but Sanderson has enough upside for fantasy managers to take a patient approach as he sorts through his struggles in the defensive zone.

Senators' Drake Batherson: Strikes on power play in loss
Batherson scored a power-play goal on three shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Islanders.
This was Batherson's first point over four games in November. He brought the Senators within a goal, but they fell short of tying the game. The winger is up to six tallies, seven helpers, five power-play points, 27 shots on net, 22 hits and an even plus-minus rating through 13 contests. Batherson's a strong fantasy option in a top-six role, though it remains to be seen if he can sustain his point-per-game pace in the long run.

Senators' Nick Jensen: First goal of season
Jenson scored a goal Thursday in a 4-2 loss to the Islanders.
It was Jensen's first goal of the season and first as a Sen. It was also his first point in six games. He isn't known for his offense, but he looked every part the scorer Thursday. Jensen walked in from the point and beat a screened Semyon Varlamov with a wrist shot glove side. He does have six points in 13 games this season, but don't expect that pace to continue. Jensen is a minute-munching defender whose best season came two years ago with 29 points in 77 games with the Caps. Last season, he put up one goal and 13 assists with 71 shots in 78 games.

Senators' Anton Forsberg: Settling into groove behind Ullmark
Forsberg made 21 saves in a 4-2 loss to the Islanders on Thursday. He allowed three goals.
Overall, Forsberg is now 3-3-0 in seven starts with a 2.72 GAA and .905 save percentage. He's off to his best start to the season since 2021-22, which would make him an ideal play-every-third-game option for the Sens. The team needs to ensure Linus Ullmark is healthy for a postseason run, and Forsberg will play an important role in that.

Senators' Tim Stutzle: White-hot start continues
Stutzle bagged two apples Thursday in a 4-2 loss to the Islanders. One of the assists came on the power play.
Stutzle's white-hot start to the season continues. He's on a three-game, five-point streak that includes four assists and has 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) and 25 shots in 13 games. That's good enough to push him into a multi-player tie for eighth overall on the NHL scoring list. Stutzle's best season came in 2022-23, but at this rate, he'll smash his 90-point career mark.

Senators' Artem Zub: Playing versus Isles
Zub (concussion) will be in the lineup to face the Islanders on Thursday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Zub is set to return to the top pairing alongside Jake Sanderson after having missed the last nine games due to his concussion. Prior to getting hurt, the 29-year-old blueliner had yet to get his name on the scoresheet through three appearances while chipping in just three hits, four shots and one block. At this point, Zub may face an uphill battle to get over the 20-point threshold again this year.

Senators' Anton Forsberg: Set to start Thursday
Forsberg was the first goalie off Thursday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports, indicating he'll draw the start at home against the Islanders.
Forsberg has been on the bench for four of the Senators' last six games, but he'll be between the pipes as the team returns home Thursday. The 31-year-old picked up his second shutout of the season during his last start, turning aside all 22 shots he saw in a 3-0 win over the Kraken on Saturday.

Perron (personal) won't play Thursday against the Islanders, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Perron was on the ice during Thursday's morning skate but didn't take any normal rotations and will be unavailable once again. Senators' Brady Tkachuk: Gets gritty in loss
Tkachuk registered an assist, six hits and 11 PIM in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Sabres.
Tkachuk fought Jordan Greenway in the first period and mixed it up with Dennis Gilbert in the third. In between his dust-ups, Tkachuk was able to extend his point streak to five games with an assist on Ridly Greig's tally in the middle frame. During the streak, Tkachuk has four goals and four assists. He's at 16 points, 44 shots on net, 41 hits and 21 PIM over 12 contests this season, providing his usual high-quality production in a variety of categories.

Greig scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Sabres.
Greig got the Senators on the board in the second period. The tally snapped his five-game point drought, though he has seen first-line usage in recent contests. The 22-year-old forward has been limited to two goals, 10 shots on net, nine hits, five blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over nine appearances.

Senators' Shane Pinto: Close to returning
Pinto (undisclosed) skated Wednesday and hasn't been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Islanders, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
Pinto has missed Ottawa's past six games because of the injury. He has a goal and three points in six outings this season. When Pinto is ready to return, he will likely serve in a middle-six capacity, which would probably push Zack Ostapchuk to the fourth line or out of the lineup entirely.

Senators' Artem Zub: Might play Thursday
Zub (concussion) might be available Thursday versus the Islanders, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia on Wednesday.
Zub hasn't been in the lineup since Oct. 14. He has no points, three hits and a block in three appearances in 2024-25. If Zub draws back into the lineup Thursday, then Jacob Bernard-Docker might serve as a healthy scratch.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Fades late against Buffalo
Ullmark made 29 saves in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Sabres.
The game was close until the third period, when Buffalo scored twice in the opening 37 seconds to blow things open. It's Ullmark's third loss in four decisions since he returned from an injury in late October, a stretch in which he's posted a 3.23 GAA and .880 save percentage.

Senators' Artem Zub: Won't play Tuesday
Zub (concussion) won't be available for Tuesday's road game against the Senators, Claire Hanna of TSN reports.
Zub will miss his ninth consecutive game due to the injury, but he appears to be nearing a return after practicing with the team Monday. The right-shot blueliner will likely replace Jacob Bernard-Docker in the lineup once given the all-clear.
