Senators' Dylan Cozens: Three game point-streak since trade
Cozens scored a goal in a 5-2 win over the Flyers on Tuesday.
Cozens has made a real impact since his arrival from Buffalo on Friday's trade deadline. He has three points (two goals, one assist) during a three-game point streak since joining the Senators. The only players in the past 10 years with as long a point streak to begin their time in Ottawa were Chris Tierney (seven games, 2018-19) and Drake Batherson (three games, 2018-19). Cozens' goal was also his 200th point in the NHL. The move to Ottawa may be the best thing to happen to his game. The center has struggled to replicate his 31-goal, 68-point heroics of 2022-23.

Senators' Dylan Cozens: Scores winner for new club
Cozens scored the game-winning goal on the power play in Monday's 2-1 victory over the Red Wings.
With just under five minutes left in the third period, the 24-year-old completed a tic-tac-toe passing play with Jake Sanderson and Brady Tkachuk to score his first goal as a Senator and snap a 1-1 tie. Acquired from the Sabres at the trade deadline, Cozens has two points in two games for his new squad and has been getting regular shifts on the first power-play unit. At least for the final weeks of the campaign, he may be able to reclaim the form that saw him rack up 31 goals and 68 points in 81 contests for Buffalo in 2022-23.

Senators' Dylan Cozens: Acquired via trade
Cozens, along with Dennis Gilbert and a 2026 second-round pick, were brought in by the Senators in a trade with the Sabres on Friday in exchange for Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker.
Cozens' production has underwhelmed this season, generating just 11 goals and 20 helpers in 61 games -- a far cry from the 68 points he put up back in 2022-23. While the youngster has been filling a second-line center role for the Sabres, he could find himself relegated to the bottom six behind Shane Pinto with his new club. Still, a strong finish to the 2024-25 campaign could see Cozens reach the 40-point threshold for the third straight year -- a mark that would be easier to achieve if he can manage more power-play productivity.

Senators' Dylan Cozens: Assist in team debut
Cozens notched an assist and nine hits in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Rangers.
The Senators have physicality all over the lineup, and it looks like Cozens will fit right in after posting his highest hit total of the season. The 24-year-old, acquired from the Sabres in the trade that sent Josh Norris to Buffalo on Friday, stepped into a second-line role for his Senators debut. Cozens has gone eight games without a goal, but he's now at 11 tallies, 21 helpers, 140 shots on net, 157 hits, 62 PIM and a minus-13 rating through 62 appearances this season.

Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Three helpers in comeback win
Cozens notched three assists in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Ducks.
All three helpers came in the third period as the Sabres erased a 2-0 deficit. Cozens hasn't been able to make a consistent contribution to the offense this season -- his longest point streak is just two games -- but he's been reasonably productive over the last month, putting together a goal and eight points over the last 11 games while adding 25 shots on net, 40 hits and a plus-5 rating.

Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Cashes in on power play
Cozens scored a power-play goal, added two PIM and logged three hits in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Predators.
Cozens battled a lower-body injury earlier in the week but was able to avoid missing any game action. He snapped a nine-game goal drought when he scored in the third period to bring the Sabres within one, though they failed to find an equalizer. The 23-year-old center is up to 11 goals, 27 points (four on the power play), 121 shots on net, 121 hits, 51 PIM and a minus-18 rating over 54 appearances. He could still get to the 40-point mark this season, but he may not be able to match the 47 he had in 2023-24.

Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Ready to play Saturday
Cozens (lower body) will be in the lineup versus Nashville on Saturday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Cozens won't miss any game action after skipping Wednesday's practice. He had a terrific 2022-23 campaign, tallying 31 goals and 37 assists in 81 regular-season games. The 23-year-old forward slumped last season with only 18 goals and 47 points across 79 regular-season appearances and has only 10 goals and 16 assists in 53 games this campaign. In Saturday's matchup, Cozens will center the third line between Peyton Krebs and Jack Quinn.

Cozens (lower body) is expected to be a game-time decision in Nashville on Saturday, according to Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.
Cozens has not missed a game with the injury. The young center has 10 goals, 16 assists, 49 PIM and 118 hits across 53 appearances this season. Cozens looked to be a breakout player two seasons ago at the age of 21 when he had 31 goals and 37 assists in 81 regular-season games. but he has regressed the last two campaigns. Look for Sam Lafferty to draw into the lineup, should Cozens not be able to play.

Cozens picked up two assists in a 7-2 win over Boston on Tuesday.
This was Cozen's first multi-point game since late December. He's really struggled this season, and he has just 26 points, including 10 goals, in 50 games this season. The previous 31-goal, 68-point pivot is on pace for a mere 16-goal, 43-point campaign. We're not sure what's up with Cozens this season, but it won't help that right now that the social media trolls have him in every trade scenario with Vancouver that can be imagined. He can't be activated in redraft leagues.

Cozens has four points over his last eight outings while filling a second-line role. The center helped out on Jiri Kulich's tally in the second period.
