Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Poor outing in loss
Kolosov gave up four goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Kolosov didn't show anything to leave a positive impression heading into the offseason. He ends the 2024-25 campaign with a 5-9-1 record, a 3.59 GAA and an .867 save percentage over 17 NHL appearances. Samuel Ersson took a step back, and Ivan Fedotov wasn't much better than Kolosov, so the Flyers will certainly be taking a long look at goaltending in the offseason. All three netminders are under contract for 2025-26, but Kolosov is the only one who will be waivers exempt, though he has previously shown reluctance to play in the AHL.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Facing Sabres
Contrary to an earlier report, Kolosov will defend the visiting crease in Buffalo on Thursday.
The Flyers initially announced that Ivan Fedotov would start the season finale, but Kolosov will ultimately be between the pipes. Kolosov is 5-8-1 with a 3.56 GAA and an .867 save percentage over 16 games this season. The Sabres are generating 3.21 goals per game in 2024-25, ranking 10th in the NHL.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Carried to win by offense
Kolosov turned aside 24 shots in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Rangers.
Seeing his first NHL action since Jan. 2, Kolosov wasn't exactly sharp, but five goals in the final 12 minutes of the third period by the Flyers gave him more than enough cushion. The 23-year-old rookie netminder is 5-8-1 on the season at the top level with a 3.56 GAA and .867 save percentage.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Drawing start against Blueshirts
Kolosov will defend the road crease against the Rangers on Wednesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Kolosov was called up by the Flyers on March 25, but Wednesday's start will be his first appearance since rejoining the NHL club. He's made 15 appearances for the Flyers over the course of the season, going 4-8-1 with a 3.45 GAA and .870 save percentage.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Summoned from minors
Kolosov was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
Philadelphia had three goaltenders on the roster before this season, and it appears that will be the case again, according to Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Samuel Ersson will start Tuesday's road matchup versus Toronto, and Ivan Fedotov will probably be the backup.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Set for demotion
Kolosov will be demoted to AHL Lehigh Valley on Friday, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Kolosov hasn't played an NHL game since Jan. 2, though he spent about a week in late January with the minor-league club. This move appears to be a more permanent arrangement, likely for the remainder of the season, and not just a paper move to make him eligible for the AHL playoffs. Samuel Ersson and Ivan Fedotov will be the Flyers' goaltending duo at the NHL level.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Recalled Friday
Kolosov was called up by the Flyers on Friday, according to Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Kolosov has a 3.59 GAA and an .874 save percentage in seven appearances with AHL Lehigh Valley in 2024-25. He's also recorded a 4-8-1 record, 3.45 GAA and .870 save percentage in 15 outings with the Flyers this year. It's not clear if his promotion is an indication that the status of Samuel Ersson or Ivan Fedotov is in question for Sunday's road tilt versus Colorado. The Flyers did carry three goaltenders earlier this season, so it's possible that Philadelphia has simply decided to do that again.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Sent to AHL
Kolosov was assigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
The Flyers elected to carry three goaltenders for several weeks while Kolosov was on the roster, but the 23-year-old hasn't appeared in a game since Jan. 2. He hasn't been particularly sharp over 15 appearances with Philadelphia this year, posting a 4-8-1 record, 3.45 GAA and .870 save percentage. Kolosov should have more consistent opportunities to play while he's in the minors.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Struggles against Golden Knights
Kolosov stopped 22 of 26 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Kolosov has gone 0-3-0 with 16 goals allowed on 86 shots (.814 save percentage) over his last five appearances, which includes three starts. The 22-year-old netminder is filling in as the Flyers' top goalie while Samuel Ersson (lower body) is out. Kolosov has a 4-8-1 record with a 3.45 GAA and an .870 save percentage through 15 outings this season. Even if he's seeing an increased workload, he's not a reliable fantasy option, especially with the Flyers facing the Maple Leafs twice and the Stars once over their next three games.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Between pipes in Vegas
Kolosov will draw the start for Thursday's road game against the Golden Knights.
Kolosov was inconsistent over limited action in December, going 1-3-1 with a 3.97 GAA and .847 save percentage over seven appearances. He could have some difficulty keeping the Golden Knights at bay Thursday, as Vegas ranks fourth in the NHL with 3.51 goals per game.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Efficient in relief Tuesday
Kolosov stopped the seven shots he faced during the third period in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Sharks.
Samuel Ersson left Tuesday's game against the Sharks after the second period. While it's uncertain if he's dealing with an injury, that would seem to be the case since he departed the contest after stopping all 15 shots he faced in the first two periods versus San Jose. Kolosov will likely operate as the No. 1 netminder for the Flyers if Ersson is forced to miss time.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Struggles against Kings
Kolosov allowed five goals on 20 shots in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Kings.
This was a low-event game, but the few chances that were created by either team tended to be dangerous. Kolosov had a 4-3 lead to protect heading into the third period and couldn't get the job done, taking his fourth loss over six appearances in December. He's now 4-7-1 with a 3.49 GAA and an .869 save percentage through 13 outings this season. None of the Flyers' three goalies have done much to claim a larger role, but Samuel Ersson remains the No. 1 with Kolosov as the No. 2 and Ivan Fedotov stuck in a third-string role. The Flyers' road trip continues Tuesday in San Jose, which could be a favorable matchup for whichever goalie gets the nod.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Between pipes in Los Angeles
Kolosov will defend the road crease Sunday versus the Kings, according to Kevin Kurz of The Athletic.
Kolosov has struggled lately, posting a 1-2-1 record, .855 save percentage and 4.01 GAA through five appearances in December. His only win in that span came against a struggling Detroit club Dec. 12. Kolosov will face a Kings team that ranks 14th in the NHL with 3.09 goals per game. Philadelphia and Los Angeles are both on the second half of a back-to-back.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Appears in relief
Kolosov appeared in relief Monday and stopped six of seven shots in a 7-3 loss to the Penguins.
He relieved Samuel Ersson. Kolosov actually played well in the third -- Sidney Crosby put in an empty-net goal while the Flyers were attempting a comeback before the Pens scored a last-minute power-play goal. Kolosov could get the next start given Ersson's struggles, but the Flyers had zero fight in them Monday, and that means no goalie is safe behind them.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Fades late in Thursday's loss
Kolosov turned aside 20 of 26 shots in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Kings, with Los Angeles' seventh goal getting scored into an empty net.
The game was tied 3-3 heading into the second intermission, but Kolosov couldn't stem the tide in the third. The 22-year-old netminder has given up at least four goals in three of four December outings, stumbling to a 4.07 GAA and .854 save percentage, but Samuel Ersson (3.86 GAA, .828 save percentage) hasn't fared any better this month as the Flyers' defense seems to be collapsing.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Expected to start Thursday
Kolosov is set to guard the home goal against Los Angeles on Thursday.
Kolosov has a 4-5-1 record, 3.05 GAA and .889 save percentage over 10 appearances in 2024-25. This will be his first start since last Thursday, when he turned aside 25 of 26 shots en route to a 4-1 win over Detroit. The Kings are tied for 15th in the NHL with 3.03 goals per game.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Nice rebound win
Kolosov made 25 saves in a 4-1 win over Detroit on Thursday.
Kolosov wasn't busy in the first two periods -- he saw just 14 shots. Ben Chiarot finally beat him late in the third to pull the Red Wings to within one goal, but Kolosov's teammates drained two empty-net goals to seal the win. It was a nice rebound for Kolosov, who had allowed four goals in each of his last two games, both losses. He's an inconsistent option when he's in the blue paint, as he's still adjusting to North American ice. However, the potential is there.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Starting against Detroit
Kolosov will start Thursday's home game against the Red Wings, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Kolosov has been somewhat inconsistent in recent starts, but he'll have a chance to right the ship Thursday against the Red Wings, who rank 27th in the NHL with 2.57 goals per game this year. Across his last three starts, Kolosov has posted a 1-1-1 record, 3.69 GAA and .872 save percentage.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Hot and cold season continues
Kolosov made 27 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss to Boston on Saturday.
The Bruins rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the third period before getting the overtime winner. Kolosov has run cold and hot this season, starting with four losses before winning three outings. He has lost his past two contests while allowing four goals each time. Samuel Ersson (lower body) will be back soon, and Kolosov will probably return to the minors.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Between the pipes Saturday
Kolosov will defend the visiting crease against Boston on Saturday.
Kolosov was shaky in his last appearance, stopping 16 of 20 shots in relief of Ivan Fedotov in a 7-5 loss to Florida on Thursday. The 22-year-old Kolosov could be returned to the minors once Samuel Ersson (lower body) is off the IR list. Kolosov is 3-3-0 with a 3.22 GAA and an .882 save percentage ahead of Saturday's tilt. Boston has posted only 2.54 goals per game, 28th in the NHL.
