Sanderson earned his first multi-point effort since Nov. 25 versus the Flames. He assisted on second-period goals by Shane Pinto and Josh Norris, with the latter's tally being shorthanded. Sanderson then put the Canucks away with a goal 13 seconds into overtime. Sanderson didn't have his best game defensively, but he was able to salvage it with the helper and blocks. The 22-year-old blueliner has been limited to just two helpers over his last eight games while taking a minus rating five times in that span. He's at nine points (eight on the power play) with 24 shots on net, 32 blocked shots, 11 hits and a minus-8 rating over 13 outings this season. It's not an ideal start to the year, but Sanderson has enough upside for fantasy managers to take a patient approach as he sorts through his struggles in the defensive zone.

Two helpers came on the power play, and the other came while shorthanded. Sanderson has been dominant with the man advantage, scoring six of his seven points on the power play. And he has points in all but one of the Sens' five games so far. In the 2023-24 regular season, Sanderson delivered 38 points in 79 appearances. The predicted ascendance for the 22-year-old defender is upon us.
