  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Snags assist in loss

Forsling recorded an assist and two hits in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Islanders. Forsling snapped an eight-game point drought with the helper on Sam Reinhart's opening goal early in the second period. The 28-year-old Forsling has started to see traces of power-play time while Aaron Ekblad (suspension) is out of the lineup until the third game of the playoffs. Forsling's offense hasn't followed his increased responsibilities. He's now at 23 points, 160 shots on net, 67 hits, 80 blocked shots and a plus-30 rating through 68 appearances, putting him on track for his worst offensive campaign in four years.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Nets goal Tuesday

Forsling scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Predators. Forsling restored a two-goal lead for the Panthers with his tally just shy of midway through the third period. The 28-year-old has scored twice over his last three NHL games. The defenseman is up to nine goals, 22 points, 150 shots on net, 65 blocked shots, 56 hits and a plus-30 rating over 59 appearances. His offense is down compared to recent seasons, but he remains excellent in his own zone as a puck-moving blueliner who helps the Panthers' fast-paced offense get up the ice.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Moves past illness

Forsling (illness) was on the ice for Team Sweden's practice session Tuesday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com. Forsling missed Monday's practice, but he skated on the second pairing with Rasmus Dahlin on Tuesday. Forsling's return to full strength will most likely push Rasmus Andersson out of the starting lineup. Team Sweden will take on Team Canada in the first game of the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament Wednesday.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Scoring pace lagging this season

Forsling scored a goal Saturday in a 5-1 win over Ottawa. Forsling lofted a shot inside the blue line that Linus Ullmark should have had for his first goal in 10 games. Forsling has eight tallies in 57 appearances this season (21 points). He will be lucky to hit the 30-point mark this season after averaging 39 over his previous three campaigns. If it's any consolation, Forsling is pounding pucks at the net and could hit the 200 mark. That may help some fantasy managers.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Pair of apples in win

Forsling dished out two assists, posted a plus-3 rating and had three shots on goal in Sunday's 6-3 win against the Islanders. Forsling generated a rebound off Islanders goalie Jakub Skarek for the defenseman's first assist. The second helper came just before the end of the second period, when Forsling set up Sam Reinhart. On the season, the 28-year-old blueliner is up to 13 assists, 20 points, a plus-26 rating, 138 shots on net and 60 blocked shots in 54 appearances. His rating of plus-26 is tied for fifth-best in the league, proving Forsling's impact goes well beyond his offensive contributions. Forsling provides well-rounded category coverage for fantasy purposes.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Finishes win with empty-netter

Forsling scored an empty-net goal on five shots and blocked two shots in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Ducks. Forsling has two goals and two helpers over nine outings in January. The 28-year-old defenseman continues to handle more responsibility while Aaron Ekblad (undisclosed) is out of the lineup. Forsling is at seven goals, 18 points, 123 shots on net, 43 hits, 52 blocked shots and a plus-20 rating through 47 appearances. Even once Ekblad is healthy, Forsling is likely to remain in a top-pairing role for his defensive performance.

The 28-year-old blueliner remains in a prominent even-strength role for the Panthers, though he has seen minimal power-play time. Forsling is up to 11 points, 37 shots on net, 17 blocked shots, 15 hits, eight PIM and a plus-13 rating over 20 appearances. His current scoring pace would earn him his second 40-point campaign in three years if he can sustain it the rest of the way.

The defenseman has three goals, seven helpers, 34 shots on net, 14 hits, 14 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating over 18 outings this season. • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Scores overtime game-winner

Forsling scored the game-winning goal on six shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Golden Knights. The 28-year-old is off to an excellent start this season, producing two goals, two assists, a plus-9 rating, 14 shots on net, five blocked shots and four hits over seven contests. He's recorded at least 37 points in three straight regular seasons, and while Forsling sees minimal power-play time, he more than makes up for it with steady even-strength offense.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Tallies lone goal in loss

Forsling scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Senators. Forsling got the Panthers on the board in the second period. The defenseman has added a plus-4 rating and four shots on net through two contests while seeing time on the top pairing at even strength. He wasn't in the power-play mix Thursday, with Uvis Balinskis instead getting time with the man advantage. Florida's offense is a strong one, so Forsling should have no trouble contributing, but the lack of a power-play role lowers his scoring ceiling for fantasy purposes.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Picks up assist in Game 1

Forsling registered an assist in Florida's 3-0 victory over the Rangers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday. Forsling fed the puck to Matthew Tkachuk, who fired it past Igor Shesterkin to put the Panthers up 1-0 late in the first period. Forsling has two goals, eight points, a plus-10 rating, eight PIM, 22 hits and 18 blocks in 12 postseason appearances this year.
