Point scored a power-play goal on two shots and blocked three shots in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Canadiens.
Point has scored in three straight contests and has five points in that span. This was his first power-play tally since Jan. 9. The 28-year-old center is up to 31 goals, 58 points (23 with the man advantage), 129 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 50 appearances. Point has two goals, two assists and nine shots in his last two games. Saturday's snipe was his 30th goal of the season, which puts him in the top five of the NHL. Point has been a top-10 NHL sniper a few times and a top-five producer once (2022-23). He's converting on 23.6 percent of his shots this season. Still, Point has delivered on more than 20 percent of his shots in each of his previous two seasons, so this uptick seems sustainable.

Point has 29 goals, 27 assists and 123 shots in 48 games this season. That puts him on pace for a campaign that almost perfectly mirrors his output last season -- 46 goals and 90 points. Point scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Chicago.
Point put the Lightning up 1-0 early in the first period. He scored with a wrist shot from the right hash marks to the far side off Nikita Kucherov's pass from below the goal line. Point has 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in a 10-game point streak against Chicago dating to March 20, 2021. Point also extended his home goal streak to five games (five goals), tied for the longest run in the NHL this season. The goal was Point's 28th in just 44 games (52 points). He's flirting with his third straight 90-point season.

Point netted an even-strength goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
Point opened the scoring just 2:02 into Saturday's contest. The star center has scored in back-to-back games after being scratched Tuesday against the Bruins for missing a team meeting. The 28-year-old has gotten on the scoresheet in six of nine games in January, but he hasn't produced a multi-point outing since Dec. 28 against the Rangers. For the season, Point has 27 goals, 49 points (20 on the power play), 91 shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-7 rating. His 29.7 shooting percentage is easily the highest mark of his career, so he could be due for negative regression in that area over the second half. Then again, Point is insulated by an assortment of elite talent in Tampa Bay.

Point missed a team meeting and was scratched Tuesday versus the Bruins. It was a one-game punishment for the 28-year-old center, and he made some amends by scoring a second-period tally Thursday. The center is up to 26 goals, 48 points, 89 shots on net and a plus-5 rating over 38 appearances. Point can be safely reinserted into all fantasy lineups as he pushes toward a third straight 40-plus-goal season.

Lightning's Brayden Point: Retakes first-line role
Point (coach's decision) was back in his customary first-line role ahead of Thursday's matchup with Anaheim, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports.
Point was held out of Tuesday's clash with the Bruins after missing a team meeting, but it appears he is back in head coach Jon Cooper's good graces. It was his 600th NHL point. Point has 289 goals and 311 assists in 615 games. This season, he has 25 goals and 22 assists in 34 games, and he's on a four-game, four-point streak (two goals, two assists). Point sits in a three-way tie with Mikko Rantanen and William Nylander for second in goals in the NHL with 24. But he's tallied those in just 34 games, compared to Nylander's 43 and Rantanen's 42. The only other player who comes close to that is Kirill Kaprizov (upper body), who has 23 in just 34 contests. Point's dominance is impressive.

Point picked up the game-winning goal Tuesday in a 3-2 victory over Carolina.
Point's scoring streak stands at three games and three points (one goal, two assists). He took a centering pass from Nikita Kucherov along the right boards and beat Pyotr Kochetkov from close range with just 52 seconds remaining. Point is tied with Mikko Rantanen for second in the NHL in goals with 24. He's also in a four-way tie for game-winning goals with six. Point is clutch.

Point has been on fire of late and his third-period goal pushed his impressive streak to eight games, a span in which he's racked up six goals and 12 assists while posting a plus-five rating. He's likely to regress at some point, though, as his 28.6 shooting percentage during the streak isn't sustainable, but there's no question the 28-year-old is going through a sizzling stretch in December. Over the course of the full season, Point has racked up 39 points (22 goals, 17 helpers) in 27 games, and he could reach the 90-point plateau for a third straight campaign if he keeps up this level of production for a few more weeks.

Point's scoring streak stands at seven games and 17 points (five goals, 12 assists). He's the NHL's third-highest goal scorer, but he's really shown off his playmaking on this streak. Point had five assists in his first 18 games this season. It's not especially surprising, though -- his 35.6 shooting percentage is unsustainably high, and in fact, it's 16.6 percent above his career mark (19.0). Point remains on a career pace and is headed for his first triple-digit campaign.

For much of the game, it didn't look like the Lightning's top line would need to get involved. The Blue Jackets then scored three times in the third period, and Point answered with the empty-netter, extending his point streak to six games (five goals, 11 assists).
