  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Wins again Friday

Grubauer stopped 23 of 25 shots in Friday's 4-2 win over Utah. Grubauer's time with AHL Coachella Valley looks to have served him well to get back on track. He's allowed just three goals on 49 shots over two starts, both wins, since returning from the minor-league club March 2. The 33-year-old could help alleviate Joey Daccord's workload down the stretch -- Daccord's performance has started to crater under heavy usage, and Grubauer may just be the hot hand currently. For the season, Grubauer is 7-15-1 with a 3.61 GAA and an .872 save percentage over 23 appearances. Even if he's able to claim a larger role, fantasy managers may want to proceed with caution.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Tending twine Friday

Grubauer returned to the win column Saturday for the first time since Dec. 30, stopping 23 shots in a 4-1 victory over Philadelphia. Grubauer spent a month in the minors in February after he was waived by the Kraken, and he returned with a flourish with Saturday's win. He is 6-15-1 with a 3.69 GAA and an .870 save percentage across 22 NHL appearances this season. Utah is averaging 2.83 goals per game in 2024-25, 21st in the NHL.

His teammates stood tall for him Saturday, blocking 15 shots in a total team effort.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Recalled by Seattle

Grubauer was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on Sunday. Grubauer was waived by the Kraken in late January, but he'll rejoin the NHL club after Niklas Kokko was sent down. Joey Daccord has been inconsistent recently, going 3-3-1 with a 3.21 GAA and .901 save percentage over his last seven appearances, so it's possible Grubauer gets some chances to tend the twine late in the season.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Designated for waivers

Grubauer was placed on waivers Wednesday for the purpose of reassignment to AHL Coachella Valley. Grubauer is currently mired in a six-game losing streak for the Kraken, going 0-5-1 with a 4.73 GAA. The netminder went seven games without making an appearance during his slump and was disappointing when he finally got another look. Assuming Grubauer clears waivers, Ales Stezka should be recalled from the minors to serve as the backup to Joey Daccord in Seattle.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Poor performance Tuesday

Grubauer gave up five goals on 22 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Ducks. This was a pretty loose game all around, which doesn't tend to bode well for Grubauer. Joey Daccord is likely to handle the bulk of the goaltending duties until Grubauer can get out of his rut. The Kraken host the Sharks on Thursday.
