  • Sabres' James Reimer: Earns win in spot start

Reimer stopped 33 of 36 shots in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Jets. Reimer has started in two of the Sabres' last three games, giving up three goals each time but going 1-1-0 in that span. The 37-year-old veteran has made just five starts since the beginning of February, and while he hasn't exactly turned heads with his play, he's posted solid numbers. Reimer has gone 2-2-1 with a 2.90 GAA and a .903 save percentage over that span.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Starting in Winnipeg

Reimer will guard the road net Sunday against the Jets, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. It'll be just the second start in 10 games for Reimer -- he allowed three goals on 30 shots in a loss to Utah on Thursday. Overall, the veteran netminder is 2-6-2 with a .902 save percentage and 2.72 GAA this year. Reimer will have a tough matchup against a Winnipeg team that averages 3.46 goals per game, the third-best mark in the league.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Does fine in loss

Reimer stopped 27 of 30 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Utah. The last two goals were empty-netters. Reimer hadn't played since March 3 versus the Canadiens, so this game was as much about shaking off the rust for him ahead of this weekend's back-to-back as it was about resting Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Reimer put in a fine effort but still took his third straight loss (0-2-1) in the outing. He's now at 2-8-2 with a 3.00 GAA and an .895 save percentage over 14 appearances between the Sabres and the Ducks in 2024-25. Look for Luukkonen and Reimer to split the back-to-back as the Sabres face the Wild on Saturday and the Jets on Sunday.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Drawing start in Utah

Reimer will start Thursday's road game at Utah, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Reimer will play for the first time since March 3 versus the Canadiens, when he stopped 16 of 20 shots in an overtime loss. The 37-year-old could get two starts in the next three games, as the Sabres' road trip ends with a back-to-back in Minnesota on Saturday and in Winnipeg on Sunday. Reimer has gone 2-7-2 with a 2.99 GAA and an .895 save percentage over 13 outings this season, so he's not a very strong fantasy option.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Falters in OT

Reimer made 16 saves in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens. Montreal scored three times in the first period, but Reimer was able to regain his focus and shut the door for the final 40 minutes of regulation as Buffalo mounted a comeback to force OT. The veteran netminder flinched in extra time though, whiffing on a Mike Matheson shot from the top of the faceoff circle despite getting a clean look at it. It was the first time Reimer had given up more than three goals in an outing since Dec. 9, and over five starts since the calendar flipped to 2025, he's gone 1-3-1 with a 2.93 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

Reimer is set to start on the road against the Canadiens on Monday, per Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550. The 36-year-old has a 2-5-1 record, .911 save percentage and 2.53 GAA across 10 appearances with the Sabres this season after a brief stint with the Ducks between waiver claims. Montreal sits 15th in the NHL with 2.97 goals per game.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Takes loss in relief Thursday

Reimer stopped 27 of 29 shots after replacing Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen midway through the first period of Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes. Reimer ended up getting saddled with the loss, as the first goal he gave up -- a Mikko Rantanen power-play tally that came less than two minutes after he took over the Buffalo crease -- proved to be the game-winner. Reimer hasn't allowed more than three goals in an outing since Dec. 9, and over his last seven appearances he's posted a sharp 2.30 GAA and .921 save percentage but has just a 1-4-0 record to show for it.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: On the ice for morning skate

Reimer (personal) was on the ice for Tuesday's morning skate, per Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550. Reimer will probably back up Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in Tuesday's home matchup versus the Ducks. Reimer is 2-4-1 with a .908 save percentage and a 2.55 GAA through nine appearances in 2024-25.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Absent from practice

Reimer (personal) didn't participate in Monday's practice, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. Reimer was given the day off to attend to a family issue but could be available for Tuesday's home matchup against Anaheim. If Reimer has to miss the game, Buffalo could recall Devon Levi from AHL Rochester to occupy the backup role behind Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Returns to win column Tuesday

Reimer stopped 27 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets. The veteran netminder came up with some huge saves to secure his first win since Nov. 23. Reimer hasn't played poorly since being acquired by the Sabres despite the lack of success, posting a 2.55 GAA and .908 save percentage in nine outings for the club but only coming away with a 2-4-1 record in that time. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (undisclosed) was unavailable Tuesday, but with Buffalo off until Saturday, Reimer may not get an opportunity to follow up this performance until after the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Starting against Blue Jackets

Reimer will patrol the home crease against Columbus on Tuesday, per Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News. Reimer has a 1-4-1 record with a 2.63 GAA and a .905 save percentage across his last eight appearances. Buffalo recalled Felix Sandstrom from AHL Rochester to occupy the backup role because Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (undisclosed) is unavailable. Columbus is tied for eighth in the league with 3.26 goals per game in 2024-25 but will be without integral offensive contributors Zach Werenski (undisclosed), Kirill Marchenko (jaw), Sean Monahan (wrist) and Yegor Chinakhov (upper body).

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Strong game not enough

Reimer made 31 saves Saturday in a 3-2 loss to Edmonton. He played a strong game, and the Sabres probably deserved a better fate -- the team had a goal disallowed in the third period after the NHL's Situation Room determined the puck was kicked into the net. Reimer doesn't get a lot of starts, and he hasn't won since Nov. 23 against San Jose. He is a risky spot starter behind the worst team in the East and third-worst in the NHL.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Set to face Edmonton

Reimer is expected to start on the road against Edmonton on Saturday, per Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News. Reimer last played between the pipes against Vegas on Jan. 4, stopping 30 of 33 shots in a 3-1 loss. He's 1-5-1 with a 3.05 GAA and an .891 save percentage in nine outings between Anaheim and Buffalo in 2024-25. Edmonton is tied for sixth in the league with 3.31 goals per game.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Loses again Saturday

Reimer gave up three goals on 33 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Golden Knights. Reimer got his first action since Dec. 21, but he wasn't able to snap his skid. He's gone 0-3-1 over his last six outings. The 36-year-old netminder is down to 1-5-1 with a 3.05 GAA and an .891 save percentage through nine appearances between the Sabres and the Ducks this year. Reimer will cede the crease back to Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen for Monday's game against the Capitals.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Starting against Vegas

Reimer will protect the road goal versus the Golden Knights on Saturday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Reimer has not started in the last five games, so he may have to shake off some rust. He's gone 1-4-1 with a 3.04 GAA and an .888 save percentage over eight outings between Anaheim and Buffalo this season. The Golden Knights have scored 25 goals over their last six games, going 5-1-0 in that span, so this will be a tough test for Reimer.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Bounced by Boston

Reimer stopped 16 of 18 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Bruins, with Boston's final goal getting scored into an empty net. There wasn't much Reimer could do on either goal -- Charlie Coyle got a breakaway coming out of the penalty box in the first period, and the netminder still stopped Coyle's first couple of shots before the puck got poked into the net in a scrum. Morgan Geekie's game-winner in the third then came on a blistering one-timer on a Boston power play. Reimer has seen action in three straight games, allowing three goals on 39 shots (.923 save percentage), and with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in a tailspin -- 0-7-2 over his last nine outings with a 4.10 GAA and .864 save percentage -- his backup could be in line for a bigger workload.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Starting in Boston

Reimer will defend the road net against Boston on Saturday, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News. Despite a previous report, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen won't start again, and Reimer will play in the second half of Buffalo's back-to-back following Friday's 6-3 loss to Toronto. Reimer has a 1-3-1 record with a 3.21 GAA and an .888 save percentage in seven appearances between the Ducks and Sabres this season. Boston sits 27th in the league with 2.59 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Mops up in loss

Reimer stopped all six shots faced in the third period of Tuesday's 6-1 loss to the Canadiens. Montreal got to starter Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen for six goals over 26 shots through two periods and ended his night. Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff sent Reimer out for the third period. It was the netminder's fourth appearance since the Sabres claimed him off waivers Nov. 13.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Falls to Wings in shootout

Reimer made 26 saves in regulation and OT and stopped one of three shootout attempts in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Red Wings. Buffalo took a 5-3 lead into the third period, but Reimer couldn't make it stick, giving up two goals on 12 shots as Detroit turned up the pressure, and he then got fooled by dekes to his blocker side in the shootout by both Lucas Raymond and Dylan Larkin. Reimer is 1-1-1 in three appearances since joining the Sabres with an .892 save percentage, and he's little threat to Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen at the top of the depth chart.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Facing Detroit

Reimer will patrol the home crease Monday against the Red Wings, according to Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550. Reimer's last appearance came in a 3-0 loss to the Islanders on Nov. 30. The 36-year-old conceded nine goals over two starts with Anaheim, but he's been better after being claimed off waivers by Buffalo -- he has a 1-1-0 record, 2.05 GAA and .923 save percentage through two appearances with the Sabres. Reimer has a favorable matchup against a Detroit club that ranks 29th in the NHL with 2.48 goals per game through 27 contests.
