Pickens (groin) practiced in full Thursday.
Pickens was held out of the Bears' Week 1 win over the Titans due to a groin injury. He started this week as a limited participant Wednesday, but his full participation Thursday bodes well for his chances of playing against the Texans on Sunday. The 2023 third-round pick appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Bears last year, and he finished with 20 tackles (nine solo), including 0.5 sacks, one pass defended and one forced fumble.

Bears' Zacch Pickens: Missing Week 1
Pickens (groin) has been ruled out ahead of the Bears' Week 1 game against the Titans on Sunday.
The second-year pro logged a DNP on Friday after two limited practice sessions earlier in the week, so it's no surprise that he won't be suiting up Sunday. Expect Chris Williams to serve as Chicago's top backup defensive tackle with Pickens sidelined for Week 1.

Bears' Zacch Pickens: Concludes rookie season
Pickens posted two tackles in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
After being selected in the third round of the 2023 draft, Pickens was a rotational player who was on the field for 251 snaps in 17 games. On the season, the defensive tackle recorded 20 tackles and a forced fumble. If his snap share increases, he could emerge as a solid interior lineman in IDP leagues. Pickens is signed with the Bears through 2026.

Bears' Zacch Pickens: Added by Chicago in third round
The Bears selected Pickens in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 64th overall.
Pickens (6-foot-4, 291 pounds) is big by defensive end standards but light compared to most tackles, making him a bit of a tweener who might fit best in odd-numbered fronts. Pickens' production was lacking at South Carolina otherwise, but his 4.89 40-yard dash and 116-inch broad jump indicate uncommon disruptive potential for one-gap tasks.
