  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Sits out practice Wednesday

Walker was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to an oblique injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

The Seahawks cited an abdominal injury as the reason Walker was deemed questionable to return during the fourth quarter of this past Sunday's win against the Broncos. Prior to Wednesday's session, head coach Mike Macdonald told Brady Henderson of ESPN.com that he wasn't sure if Walker would take part, and the team wants to take the running back's situation day by day. In the end, an oblique issue is the cause of Walker's absence to begin Week 2 prep, and if he ends up limited or sidelined Sunday at New England, Zach Charbonnet would be the primary beneficiary out of Seattle's backfield.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Uncertain to practice Wednesday

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said he isn't sure if Walker (abdomen) will practice Wednesday and wants to take things day by day with the running back, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Walker suffered an abdominal injury during the fourth quarter of a 26-20 win over Denver on Sunday, leaving the Seattle backfield in Zach Charbonnet's hands down the stretch. Prior to the final 10 minutes, Walker played 80 percent of snaps and took 20 of the 24 running-back carries, handling a much larger role than what he had for most of last season. The new coaching staff in Seattle could do wonders for Walker's fantasy value, but first he'll need to prove he's healthy before a game at New England this Sunday. The Seahawks seemingly view him as day-to-day and aren't in any rush to provide serious hints about his Week 2 availability.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: No new update from coach

Coach Mike Macdonald didn't have a concrete update on Walker (abdomen) on Monday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

When addressing the status of Walker -- who suffered an abdominal injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Broncos -- Macdonald noted Monday that there's "nothing new right now, just taking it day by day with (the running back)." For his part, following the Seahawks' Week 1 contest, Walker said, "I'm good," but his practice participation nonetheless will be worth monitoring ahead of this weekend's game against the Patriots.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Hurts abdomen late in strong Week 1

Walker suffered an abdominal injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 26-20 win over the Broncos.

Walker was subbed out late in the fourth quarter due to abdominal pain. Prior to the injury, he rushed 20 times for 103 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for six yards on three targets. In addition to scoring a 23-yard touchdown in the third quarter, Walker had a would-be six-yard touchdown nullified by a holding penalty on the following drive. Walker's practice participation will be worth monitoring as the Seahawks prepare to face the Patriots in Week 2.
