Chiefs' Justyn Ross: Staying in Kansas City
Ross signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs on Tuesday, Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports reports.
Ross was unable to make the Chiefs' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he stuck around on the practice squad. He did not record a catch in Week 9 and 10 when he was elevated to the active roster, and he was a healthy scratch for the AFC Championship Game against the Bills. Ross will be on the Chiefs' 90-man roster when the new league year begins March 12, which will give him an opportunity to participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp in the hopes of earning a spot on the 53-man roster for the 2025 campaign.

Justyn Ross: Back to practice squad
Ross reverted to the Chiefs' practice squad Monday.
Ross was elevated to the Chiefs' active roster this past Saturday. He was ultimately a healthy scratch for Sunday's AFC Championship Game victory over the Bills, though his elevation may have been so that he would receive a $77,000 game check rather than a $12,500 weekly payout for being on the practice squad, per Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com. Ross could be elevated for Super Bowl LIX against the Eagles on Feb. 9 if the Chiefs are in need of additional depth at wide receiver.

Chiefs' Justyn Ross: Healthy scratch Sunday
Ross (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's AFC Championship Game versus the Bills.
Ross was elevated from the practice squad Saturday, marking his first time on the active roster since Week 10 versus the Broncos. It's unlikely that he ever would have seen the field versus Buffalo, as Kansas City already had six healthy wideouts heading into Sunday's action. Instead, the team likely elevated Ross so that he could earn a $77,000 game check compared to the $12,500 weekly pay that he would have gotten from being on the practice squad, according to Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will have his usual complement of wide receivers with Xavier Worthy, DeAndre Hopkins, Hollywood Brown, Justin Watson, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Nikko Remigio.

Chiefs' Justyn Ross: Elevated for AFC Championship Game
Ross was elevated from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship Game versus Buffalo, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
This will be Ross' first elevation since Week 10 when he failed to haul in his lone target versus Denver. The Chiefs are not dealing with any new injuries at wideout, leaving Ross as the seventh WR on the active roster heading into Sunday's game. Expect Xavier Worthy, DeAndre Hopkins and Hollywood Brown to fill out the starting group while Justin Watson and JuJu Smith-Schuster work as primary reserves.

Justyn Ross: Back to practice squad
Ross reverted to Kansas City's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Ross was elevated to the Chiefs' active roster for a second straight game Sunday due to JuJu Smith-Schuster being sidelined with a hamstring injury. Ross played seven of the Chiefs' 68 offensive snaps Sunday but failed to haul in his lone target. If the Chiefs elevate Ross from the practice squad again, they'll subsequently have to sign him to the active roster in order for him to play for the team again in 2024.

Chiefs' Justyn Ross: Elevated for Week 10
The Chiefs elevated Ross from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Ross will be elevated for a second straight game due to JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) being ruled out. Ross played seven snaps on offense during the Chiefs' Week 9 win over the Buccaneers but did not see any targets from Patrick Mahomes.

Justyn Ross: Lands back on practice squad
Ross reverted to the Chiefs' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
With fellow wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) unable to play Monday night against Tampa Bay, Ross received an elevation to the active roster. The latter logged just seven offensive snaps in the contest and didn't get any targets. The elevation was Ross's first of the campaign, and his chance of being elevated again in Week 10 could depend upon whether Smith-Schuster is able to return to action.

Chiefs' Justyn Ross: Elevated for Monday night
Ross was elevated to the Chiefs' active roster Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The Clemson product's elevation Monday provides depth in Kansas City's wide-receiver room, with JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) in line to miss his second consecutive game in Week 9's matchup against Tampa Bay. Ross appeared in 10 regular-season games with the Chiefs in 2023, catching six of his 11 targets for 53 yards. He's expected to serve as a depth piece in Monday night's contest, likely seeing minimal offensive work.

Justyn Ross: Joins KC's practice squad
Ross signed with Kansas City's practice squad Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
Ross was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday but went unclaimed, giving Kansas City the opportunity to keep the wide receiver in the organization as a member of the practice squad. Kansas City has seven wide receivers on its 53-man roster, so it may take a couple of injuries for Ross to earn a chance at a promotion after he dressed for 10 regular-season games with Kansas City as a rookie in 2023.

Justyn Ross: Sent to waivers
The Chiefs waived Ross on Tuesday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
Ross appeared in 10 regular-season games with Kansas City last season, securing six of 11 targets for 53 yards, but he won't stick on the 53-man roster to begin the 2024 season. If the former Clemson standout goes unclaimed on waivers, though, he'll be a likely candidate to earn a spot on the Chiefs' practice squad.

Chiefs' Justyn Ross: Will play Sunday
Ross (hamstring) is active for Sunday's divisional-round matchup against Buffalo.
Ross was unable to play in the Chiefs' wild-card win over the Dolphins due to the injury, but he was able to log limited practices leading up to the divisional-round matchup with the Bills. The Clemson product will be one of the many options at receiver suiting up for Kansas City on Sunday.
