  • Colts' Will Mallory: Takes step back Year 2

Mallory secured four of eight targets for 29 yards across 10 regular-season appearances with the Colts in 2024.

Mallory played two less games in 2024 than as a rookie, though in 2023 he saw 26 targets (versus eight in 2024) and played 153 offensive snaps (versus 90 in 2024). He concluded the 2024 campaign as a healthy scratch. Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox are both pending free agents, so Mallory could be counted on to handle a larger role in 2025, but he may need a strong offseason in order to regain this coaching staff's trust.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Won't play against Big Blue

Mallory (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Mallory played in the Colts' last three games and logged one catch (on two targets) for seven yards over that span. However, the 2023 fifth-round pick will be a healthy scratch for Week 17 as Indianapolis goes with Drew Ogletree, Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson as its three active tight ends. Mallory's next chance to play will be in the Colts' regular-season finale against the Jaguars next weekend.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Healthy scratch for Week 11

Mallory (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Mallory appeared in each of the Colts' last seven games, totaling three receptions on six targets for 22 yards across 65 offensive snaps. Mo Alie-Cox, Kylen Granson and Drew Ogletree are the Colts' active tight ends for Week 11.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Gets second reception of season

Mallory had one reception for five yards on his lone target in Sunday's win over Miami.

Mallory was the only Indy tight end with a reception amid an anemic passing attack under quarterback Anthony Richardson. Mallory played just four snaps on offense and is No. 4 on the depth chart among tight ends, so his upside is limited in the offense.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Gets first reception of season

Mallory had one reception for seven yards on his only target in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville. It was his first reception this season.

After being inactive the first three games, Mallory's played the last two games. He played on 16 of the offense's 70 snaps and went out on 13 routes. The Colts continue to divide targets and snaps between up to four tight ends (Kylen Granson played 18 snaps, Mo Alie-Cox played 29, Drew Ogletree played 26). As long as the workload is that spread out, none will have viable fantasy value for most formats.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Slated to make season debut

Mallory is active for Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Mallory has yet to play this season. With Jelani Woods (toe) on injured reserve, snaps are available at tight end in Indianapolis. However, Mallory remains behind Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree on the depth chart.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Inactive against Houston

Mallory (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Houston.

With Mallory inactive and Jelani Woods out for the season with a toe injury, Indy's tight-end group has been narrowed to Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree. Mallory could still enter the mix at some point this season.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Makes 53-man roster

Mallory has made Indianapolis' 53-man roster.

Mallory missed time early in training camp due to a sore hamstring but is healthy as the regular season begins. Mallory appeared in 12 games as a rookie last season, and the 2023 fifth-round draft pick out of Miami caught 18 of 26 targets for 207 yards. Mallory will be part of a four-man committee at tight end that also includes Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree. The Colts are likely to split targets between the foursome.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Two receptions in preseason opener

Mallory had two receptions for 31 yards on two targets in Sunday's preseason loss to Denver.

Mallory had missed time in training camp due to a sore hamstring but looked back to full speed. He's competing with Jelani Woods, Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree for playing time in a deep tight end room that lacks a clear No. 1 option. Indy's first preseason game did little to sort the competition other than all five are healthy.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Back at practice

Mallory (hamstring) was back practicing Friday, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Mallory's hamstring injury from the Colts' 2023 season has lingered over to preparation for this upcoming year, but he's now moving in the right direction with a return to practice. The capacity that the 6-foot-4 tight end was able to participate in Friday was not disclosed, which leaves his availability for Sunday's preseason game against Denver up in the air.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Dealing with hamstring injury

Mallory didn't participate in Wednesday's practice session due to a hamstring injury, Joel Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Mallory suffered a hamstring injury in Indianapolis' 2023 finale, but it's unclear if his latest hamstring issue is to the same leg. A return to the practice field in short order is crucial for Mallory, as he's competing with Jelani Woods, Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree for playing time in a deep tight end room that lacks a clear No. 1 option.

  • Colts' Will Mallory: Back on field

Mallory (hamstring) participated in OTAs last week.

Mallory finished the 2023 campaign sidelined by an injury, but it appears the 2023 fifth-round selection has fully recovered. Although he was able to contribute 18 receptions and 207 yards in 12 regular-season games during his rookie campaign, he faces a crowded tight end room in Indianapolis with the return of Jelani Woods from a Hamstring injury, as well as holdovers Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree.
