Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Logs full practice to begin week
Conner (shoulder) practiced fully Tuesday.
Conner hurt his shoulder Week 18 against Denver, though Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said the second-year defensive back practiced the following Friday. Kansas City had a first-round playoff bye, so Conner had extra time to get well. Conner's full practice Tuesday suggests he should be good to go for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against Houston.

Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Back at practice
Head coach Andy Reid told reporters that Conner (shoulder) participated in practice Friday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
The second-year pro from Virginia Tech sustained a shoulder injury in the Chiefs' Week 18 loss to the Broncos, sidelining him for most of the second half. However, Conner's return to practice Friday suggests he's trending toward playing in the playoffs, especially with Kansas City having a bye until the divisional round.

Conner was ruled out early in the third quarter after racking up five stops (three solo) in the first half. With his day now done, the second-year cornerback will finish the 2024 regular season with 77 tackles, including 1.0 sacks, along with four pass defenses (including two interceptions) and a fumble-recovery touchdown. The Chiefs have wrapped up a first-round playoff bye, so Conner will have an extra week to try to recover from the shoulder injury in time for Kansas City's next game, which will come in the AFC divisional round.

He was a full participant in practice this week, and he has progressed through the league's five-step concussion protocol in time to be cleared to play in Sunday's regular-season finale. Conner suffered a concussion Week 15 against Cleveland and will now be forced to sit out a second straight game. That should open the door for Christian Roland-Wallace to get more work after he tallied a season-high 31 defensive snaps last Saturday versus Houston. Conner was diagnosed with a concussion during the Chiefs' Week 15 win over the Browns. He was inactive for this past Saturday's game against the Texans, and Conner faces an uphill battle to clear the league's five-step concussion protocols ahead of Wednesday's game against the Steelers. If Conner is ruled out for Christmas Day, Christian Roland-Wallace -- who played a season-high 31 defensive snaps in Week 16 -- would be slated to serve as the Chiefs' slot corner.

Conner (concussion) did not practice Thursday and is ruled out for Saturday's game against the Texans.
Conner will predictably remain sidelined Saturday after having exited Kansas City's win over Cleveland in Week 15 due to a concussion.
