Bills' Ed Oliver: Could return by playoffs
Oliver (biceps) has a chance to return for the first week of the playoffs, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Buffalo coach Sean McDermott confirmed earlier this week that the defensive tackle needs surgery on his torn biceps, per Rapoport. The Bills also still plan to evaluate the trade market as a way to help their struggling run defense. In Oliver's absence, Larry Ogunjobi, Jordan Phillips, DaQuan Jones and Deone Walker will need to take on bigger roles.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Sent to injured reserve
The Bills placed Oliver (biceps) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Coach Sean McDermott confirmed Oliver needs surgery, but there's a chance he could return during the playoffs should the Bills qualify for the postseason, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. It's a massive loss for the Buffalo defense that has struggled to stop the run this season. Oliver has appeared in just three regular-season games this season, logging 12 tackles (10 solo), including 3.0 sacks. Larry Ogunjobi, Jordan Phillips, DaQuan Jones (calf) and Deone Walker will need to pick up the slack.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Torn biceps confirmed
Head coach Sean McDermott confirmed Monday that Oliver tore his biceps during the Bills' 40-9 win over the Panthers on Sunday and is out indefinitely, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Oliver was unable to return for the second half of Sunday's game, and further tests have confirmed that the 27-year-old defensive tackle tore his biceps. He'll be sidelined indefinitely while recovering, and it doesn't seem likely that he'll be cleared to return this season unless the Bills qualify for the playoffs and make a deep run. DaQuan Jones (calf), Larry Ogunjobi, Deone Walker, Michael Hoecht and Jordan Phillips are poised for bigger roles on the defensive line in Oliver's absence.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Likely out indefinitely
Oliver is feared to have sustained a torn biceps in Sunday's 40-9 win over the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The 27-year-old defensive tackle recorded three total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, across 18 defensive snaps before exiting Sunday's game with an injury. If tests confirm a torn biceps, Oliver likely will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. He's battled multiple injuries throughout the year, recording 12 total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, across just three appearances. If Oliver misses time as expected, Larry Ogunjobi is likely to have an expanded role on the Bills' defensive line.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Won't return due to biceps injury
Oliver has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Panthers due to a biceps injury, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Oliver went to the locker room late in the second quarter after suffering the injury and was quickly ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game. With Oliver done for the day and DaQuan Jones (calf) inactive, the Bills will turn to Deone Walker, Larry Ogunjobi and Jordan Phillips to pick up the slack at defensive tackle the rest of the way.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Good to go vs Falcons
Oliver (ankle) has no injury designation for Buffalo's matchup versus the Falcons on Monday.
Oliver is set to play for the first time since the team's Week 1 win over the Ravens after missing the last four games. Now healthy, the 27-year-old should return to his role as one of Buffalo's starting defensive tackles for Monday's matchup.

Bills' Ed Oliver: No go for SNF
Oliver (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday night's contest against the Patriots.
Oliver will miss a fourth consecutive game as he continues to nurse an ankle injury that he suffered in Week 1 against the Ravens. With T.J. Sanders also unavailable for Week 5, Deone Walker stands to see a significant increase in workload at defensive tackle versus New England.
