Broncos' Malcolm Roach: Ready for '25 debut
Roach (calf) is active for Sunday's game against the Jets in London, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Suiting up for the first time all season after being reinstated from injured reserve Saturday, Roach projects to fill a rotational role along Denver's defensive line in Week 6. Over his 17 regular-season appearances with Denver in 2025, Roach recorded 2.5 sacks among his 43 tackles and was credited with a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Broncos' Malcolm Roach: Activated from IR
The Broncos activated Roach (calf) from injured reserve Saturday, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Roach opened the regular season on injured reserve due to a calf injury. He was a full participant in the final two practices of the week after being designated to return Wednesday, so his reinstatement off IR indicates that he is on track to make his 2025 debut against the Jets on Sunday in London, England. Roach tallied 43 tackles (18 solo), including 2.5 sacks, two pass defenses, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across 17 regular-season games in 2024.

Broncos' Malcolm Roach: Questionable for London game
Roach (calf) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, head coach Sean Payton said Friday, Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports reports.
Payton added that Roach is "doing well." In order to make his season debut Sunday against the Jets in London, Roach would first have to be activated from injured reserve. He was designated to return from IR on Wednesday, opening up a three-week window for the Broncos to activate the defensive tackle.

Roach (calf) was designated to return from the injured reserve list Wednesday.
The Texas product was sidelined for Denver's first five games this season due to a calf injury, but it now appears he's nearing a return. Roach appeared in all 17 of the Broncos' regular-season games in 2024, recording 43 total tackles, including 2.5 sacks, and two passes defended. He now has 21 days to be added to Denver's active roster before reverting to IR. Once fully healthy, Roach is expected to serve as one of the team's top interior defensive linemen.

Broncos' Malcolm Roach: Sidelined to begin 2025
Roach (calf) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Roach was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Titans on Friday, but he'll now be out for at least the first four games of the season. Roach had a career-best campaign in 2024, so he should have a decent role upon his return.

Broncos' Malcolm Roach: Career year in 2024
Roach recorded 43 total tackles (18 solo), including 2.5 sacks, two passes defended and one forced fumble over 17 regular-season games in 2024.
The first-year Bronco had the best year of his NFL career in 2024, setting new career highs in tackles, sacks and forced fumbles, despite serving as the team's No. 2 nose tackle behind D.J. Jones. Roach outperformed Jones in several key categories, tallying more tackles (43 to 42), sacks (2.5 to 1.0) and tackles for loss (five to one) this season. With Jones set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer, Roach likely will have the opportunity to compete for the team's top interior defensive lineman spot. He's expected to remain in Denver in 2025 after signing a two-year, $7 million deal with the Broncos last offseason.

Roach finished last season on injured reserve due to a knee injury but still managed to compete in 12 contests for the Saints, recording a combined 38 tackles. The 25-year-old will reunite with his former head coach, Sean Payton, and he should bolster Denver's depth at nose tackle.

Saints' Malcolm Roach: Finishes season on IR
Roach (knee) logged 38 tackles and three passes defended across 12 appearances during the 2023 season.
Roach logged a career high in tackles before sustaining a significant knee injury that sent him to injured reserve for the final five games of the 2023 season. The 25-year-old, who signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2020, has played a fairly sizable role as a rotational defensive tackle over the past two seasons, though he's now missed nine games due to injury over that span. Roach signed a one-year, $1.01 million deal with the Saints in March, and he's currently set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
