Jets' Jake Hanson: Won't play in Week 10
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich told reporters Friday that Hanson (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's matchup against Cardinals, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
Hanson was unable to return to the Jets' Week 9 win over the Texans after sustaining a hamstring injury, and he was held out of practice both Wednesday and Thursday. Olu Fashanu will likely serve as the Jets' top backup guard in Hanson's stead.

Hanson was playing in place of John Simpson (groin). Olu Fashanu is now in at right guard for the Jets. Fashanu is the fourth player to hold down that spot for New York this year, per Cimini.

Hanson (concussion) is participating at the Jets' organized training activities, Zach Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Hanson was placed on New York's injured reserve prior to last season's final week. It seems as though he has since cleared all the league's concussion protocols, given his presence at OTAs. He is projected to compete for a depth role on the team's offensive line in the upcoming season.

Hanson injured his shin in the Packers' second preseason game against the Patriots. He was then waived/injured by the team before subsequently reverting to IR after going unclaimed. Now, instead of spending the rest of the season on the sideline, the center will be able to look for a new opportunity once his health is back up to par.

Hanson suffered a shin injury in Saturday's exhibition contest against New England and was waived with an injury designation Tuesday. He's since cleared waivers and has consequently reverted to IR. That means Hanson will miss the 2023 season unless he and Green Bay agree on an injury settlement.
