  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Four grabs in divisional-round loss

Schultz caught all four of his targets for 63 yards in Saturday's 23-14 divisional-round loss to Kansas City. The veteran tight end was on the other end of C.J. Stroud's longest completion of the day, a 34-yard connection on the Texans' first possession that helped set up a field goal. Schultz suited up for every game in 2024, the first time he'd accomplished that since he was a Cowboy in 2021, but even with the Texans dealing with a number of injuries to their wide receiver room, he didn't see an increase in his production of target volume. He posted a 53-532-2 line on 85 targets over 17 regular-season contests before adding six catches for 86 yards on eight targets over two postseason appearances. Schultz has two years and $22 million left on his current contract, and given the middling impact he made in 2024, it's possible the Texans consider making him a cap casualty this offseason.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Cleared to face Kansas City

Schultz (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation for Saturday's divisional-round game against the Chiefs. After being deemed limited Tuesday and Wednesday, Schultz practiced fully Thursday, paving the way for him to lead Houston's tight end corps in the team's second postseason contest. In last weekend's 32-12 wild-card win over the Chargers, Schultz -- who logged a 53-532-2 receiving line in 17 regular-season outings -- caught two of his four targets for 23 yards.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Another limited practice

Schultz (shoulder) remained a limited participant at practice Wednesday. Following a pair of limited sessions to begin the week, Schultz may need to practice fully Thursday in order to avoid an injury designation for Saturday's divisional-round game against the Chiefs. With Cade Stover (collarbone) having been placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Irv Smith is next up behind Schultz on the Texans' depth chart at tight end. Teagan Quitoriano (calf) -- who remains on injured reserve -- has been practicing fully this week and could be activated ahead of the weekend to bolster depth at the position.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Limited with shoulder issue

Schultz (shoulder) was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice. The veteran tight end has been relatively healthy this season, and it's the first time he's been listed as limited on a practice report since September. Schultz played 73 percent of the offensive snaps in last Saturday's wild-card win over the Chargers, securing two of his four targets for 23 yards. Rookie TE Cade Stover (undisclosed), was placed on injured reserve earlier Tuesday, which could lead to a little more volume for Schultz in the divisional round against Kansas City.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Two catches in wild-card round win

Schultz recorded two receptions on four targets or 23 yards in Saturday's 32-12 win over the Chargers. Nico Collins and John Metchie accounted for half of the targets from C.J. Stroud, leaving limited volume for the rest of Houston's pass catchers. Even taking that into account, Schultz's performance was disappointing, particularly considering that Cade Stover matched his four targets and outgained him. Schultz now has fewer than 30 receiving yards in four of his last five games.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Three catches in Week 18

Schultz recorded three catches on three targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 23-14 win over the Titans. Schultz played throughout the first half, well after most of the top Texans' skill-position players were rested. His longest catch went for 13 yards on Houston's first possession, and he concludes the season with 532 yards -- his lowest yardage total since 2019. However, Schultz has remained a consistent target earner, as he's topped 50 receptions in six straight campaigns, and he should retain a peripheral role in the Houston offense in a likely matchup with the Chargers in the first round of the playoffs.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Week 18 Waiver Priority List

Schultz was a disappointment in Week 17 against Baltimore with two catches for 21 yards, but he had six targets in the first game without Tank Dell (knee). C.J. Stroud should lean on Schultz again in Week 18 at Tennessee, and this is a better matchup. I'm going back to Schultz as a low-end starter in all leagues in Week 18.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: TEs to Start

Tank Dell (knee) is out for the rest of the season, and the Texans need Schultz to step up in a big way, starting in Week 17 against the Ravens. And he's playing well coming into this matchup with at least 15.5 PPR points in two of his past three games, including catching five passes for 45 yards and a touchdown on eight targets in Week 16 at Kansas City. The Ravens have allowed eight tight ends to score at least 9.7 PPR points this season, and Schultz is worth using as a low-end starter in all leagues in Week 17.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Week 17 Waiver Priority List

Schultz is getting hot heading into Week 17 against Baltimore, and the Texans need him with Tank Dell (knee) out. Schultz has scored at least 15.5 PPR points in two of his past three games, including catching five passes for 45 yards and a touchdown on eight targets in Week 16 at Kansas City. The Ravens are No. 11 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and Schultz should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues in Week 11.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Scores TD in Saturday's loss

Schultz caught five of eight targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 27-19 loss to the Chiefs. Schultz finished second on the team in targets behind Nico Collins (10), and Schultz will likely work as the team's second option in the passing game moving forward, as wide receiver Tank Dell exited due to a serious knee injury. The tight end scored his second touchdown of the season on a 10-yard catch in the second quarter. Both of those scores have come in the last three games after Schultz started the season on a 12-game touchdown drought. Schultz's arrow is pointing up ahead of a Christmas matchup with the Ravens.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Two catches in Week 15 win

Schultz secured two of four targets for 13 yards in the Texans' 20-12 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. Schultz was a bit player in the air attack, although with C.J. Stroud throwing for only 131 yards on the afternoon, the veteran tight end was hardly the only Texan with modest numbers. Schultz came into game with a pair of five-catch tallies in the previous three games, but he remains a complementary option even in games when Stroud has a lot more success through the air.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Sleeper TEs

Schultz comes into Week 15 against Miami having scored at least 8.3 PPR points in three of his past four games. That includes his best game of the season in Week 13 at Jacksonville with five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown on seven targets for 17.1 PPR points. It's good timing for Schultz to face the Dolphins, who have allowed four tight ends in their past four games to score at least 9.4 PPR points. Schultz is worth using as a low-end starter in all leagues in Week 15.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Week 15 Waiver Priority List

The last time we saw Schultz, he had his best game of the season in Week 13 at Jacksonville, with five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. He actually has at least 8.3 PPR points in three of his past four games, and now he has a great matchup against Miami in Week 15. He then gets Kansas City in Week 16 and Baltimore in Week 16, and Schultz could be a good streaming option to close the season in the majority of leagues.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Finds end zone in Week 13 win

Schultz secured five of seven targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 23-20 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. Despite missing time in the second half to be evaluated for a shoulder injury, Schultz was able to record his first touchdown since January's wild-card win over the Browns, finding the end zone on a 22-yard grab early in the fourth quarter. The veteran tight end finished second in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon for the Texans, and his catch total matched a season high as well. Schultz now has a pair of five-reception totals in the last three games heading into a Week 14 bye.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Two catches in loss

Schultz caught both of his targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 32-27 loss to Tennessee in Week 12. Schultz garnered fewer targets than backup Cade Stover (four), who also caught a touchdown pass. Schultz has been a weekly contributor -- through 12 games, he's caught 36 passes on 57 targets for 363 yards -- and he's been on the field for an 82 percent share of snaps, but he's still looking for his first TD of 2024.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Team-high catch total in win

Schultz secured five of seven targets for 33 yards in the Texans' 34-10 win over the Cowboys on Monday night. Facing his old team for the first time, Schultz recorded a team-high catch total that also served as a season-best figure. Schultz had 52- and 66-yard outings over the prior three games coming into Monday night, but with Nico Collins back on the field following a five-game absence due to a hamstring injury, the veteran tight end was used close to the line of scrimmage. Schultz's fantasy upside should remain modest in a Week 12 home divisional matchup against the Titans.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: TEs to Sit

Schultz has failed to score a touchdown this season or score double digits in PPR in any game despite Nico Collins, Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell all missing time. With Collins set to return in Week 11 against Dallas, it's tough to trust Schultz as a starter in the majority of leagues against the Cowboys in Week 11.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Season-best 66 yards

Schultz recorded three receptions on four targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 26-23 loss to the Lions. Schultz earned fewer than five targets for only the second time since Week 3, which came as a surprise given the absence of Nico Collins (hamstring) and Stefon Diggs (knee). However, Schultz still managed his highest yardage total of the season, primarily thanks to a 32-yard reception early in the third quarter. Though it was a positive performance, Schultz has still managed to top 35 yards in only two games for the campaign.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: TEs to Sit

Schultz failed to take advantage of Nico Collins (hamstring) being out for the past four games, and Stefon Diggs (knee) also missed Week 9. For the season, Schultz has failed to score double digits in PPR in any outing, and he's yet to score a touchdown. Collins is expected to return in Week 10 against the Lions, and Detroit is No. 2 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends. Only one tight end has scored a touchdown against the Lions this season, and Schultz is not worth trusting at this point in the year.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Week 9 Waiver Priority List

The Texans need Schultz with Stefon Diggs (knee) out for the season, and Nico Collins (hamstring) remains on injured reserve. Schultz just had his best game of the season in Week 8 against the Colts with four catches for 52 yards on six targets, and hopefully, he can find the end zone for the first time this year in Week 9 against the Jets. Schultz is worth adding for 5-10 percent of your remaining FAB.
