Vikings' Shaquill Griffin: Returns to practice
Griffin (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Griffin hadn't practiced since late July due to the hamstring issue, so expect him to be eased back into action. He's unlikely to play in any preseason games but looks on track to play Week 1 of the regular season. He's expected to start opposite Stephon Gilmore with Byron Murphy Jr. playing in the slot.

Vikings' Shaquill Griffin: Misses game with hamstring injury
Griffin missed Saturday's preseason win over Las Vegas due to a hamstring injury, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Griffin hasn't practiced since late July due to the issue and the severity of the injury isn't clear. The Vikings are struggling with cornerback depth with Byron Murphy coming back from a knee injury, Mekhi Blackmon lost to a torn ACL and the death of 2024 fourth-round draft pick Khyree Jackson in a car accident.

Vikings' Shaquill Griffin: Managing leg injury
Griffin is dealing with a soft tissue injury to his left leg, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Griffin signed with Minnesota in March and has a chance to earn a starting role at cornerback with his new team, but he'll be held out of practice for a period while recovering from the leg issue. Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Saturday that "it might be a week or so" before Griffin returns, so it doesn't appear that the injury is going to prevent him from being ready to suit up when the regular season rolls around.

Vikings' Shaquill Griffin: Finds new home
Griffin signed a contract with the Vikings on Tuesday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Griffin finished his 2023 campaign with Carolina after being waived by the Texans in November. The veteran corner appeared in a total of 13 games between the two teams, making 39 tackles and defending four passes, including his first interception since 2020. A Pro Bowler in 2019, Griffin will bolster Minnesota's depth in the secondary.

Panthers' Shaquill Griffin: Finishes campaign in Carolina
Griffin finished the regular season with six tackles (five solo) and one pass defended in three games for the Panthers. He began the campaign with the Texans, recording 33 tackles (24 solo) and one interception on four passes defended in 10 games.
Griffin was cut by Houston despite starting six games. He subsequently started one of his three appearances for Carolina. The former Pro Bowler is now slated to become an unrestricted free agent, leaving his 2024 outlook uncertain until he signs somewhere.

Panthers' Shaquill Griffin: Claimed by Panthers
Griffin was claimed off waivers by the Panthers on Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
The move came a day after Griffin was released by the Texans. Griffin started six games for Houston and recorded 33 tackles, four passes defensed and an interception, but he lost his role to second-year cornerback Derek Stingley in recent weeks. The seventh-year veteran should start off as a depth corner for the Panthers.

Shaquill Griffin: Cut from team
Griffin was waived by the Texans on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Griffin recorded 33 tackles and one interception on the season, but he eventually was cut out of defensive reps and has solely played on special teams for the last two weeks. The veteran cornerback was starting for the bulk of the season but later lost his role to second-year cornerback Derek Stingley, who returned off injured reserve and now has recorded back-to-back games with interceptions.

Texans' Shaquill Griffin: Snags first pick of the season
Griffin logged five tackles (two solo), an interception and a pass deflection in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Bengals.
Griffin came up big for the Texans, intercepting Joe Burrow in the end zone late in the fourth quarter. The 28-year-old hadn't recorded an interception before Sunday's since 2020, and he'll look to produce once again when the team takes on the Cardinals next week.
