A thigh injury plagued Lockett since mid-August, and he managed back-to-back limited practices to begin Week 1 prep before capping it with a full session Friday. While he entered the weekend listed as questionable, both the wide receiver and coach Mike Macdonald expressed optimism that Lockett would be able to suit up Sunday. Indeed, that has come to pass, meaning Lockett will join DK Metcalf and second-year pro Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the Seahawks' top trio of wide receivers for quarterback Geno Smith.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: On track to play Sunday
Lockett (thigh) remains listed as questionable but is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Broncos, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Even though Lockett was limited during practices Wednesday and Thursday, head coach Mike Macdonald had already intimated that the wideout was on track to play Sunday. Lockett's condition apparently hasn't taken a turn for the worse in the two days after he turned in a full practice Friday, so expect him to be formally cleared when the Seahawks release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. DK Metcalf and Lockett will once again sit atop the depth chart at receiver for the Seahawks entering the 2024 season, but 2023 first-round pick and No. 3 wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba is expected to take on a larger role in his second NFL campaign and could wind up cutting into Lockett's target share.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Looking good for Sunday
Lockett (thigh) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Denver, but comments from head coach Mike Macdonald in combination with the wide receiver's full practice participation Friday suggest that the wideout will play, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
In other words, Lockett likely would be listed as probable if the designation still existed. He injured his thigh in mid-August and missed more than two weeks of practice, returning this Monday and ultimately progressing to full participation by the end of the week. Both Lockett and Macdonald have expressed confidence that the wideout will be active ahead of a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.

Lockett (thigh) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Lockett has been bothered by a thigh injury since mid-August and was a limited practice participant Wednesday and Thursday. He said Monday that his limitations in practice have been related to maintenance, telling reporters that he'd be fine to play in the season opener. The Seahawks apparently don't consider it a sure thing, although coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that "we expect [Lockett] to play," per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

Since mid-August, Lockett has been tending to an undisclosed leg issue, which has been confirmed to be to his thigh. He told Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic on Monday that his lack of activity in the meantime was related to maintenance, and added that he was aiming to play Sunday against the Broncos. Lockett has a pair of practices left ahead of the weekend before Seattle potentially tabs him with a designation for the season opener.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Intends to be available for opener
Lockett (leg) said Monday that he will play in Sunday's game against the Broncos, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Lockett has been sitting out practice since Aug. 14 due to a leg issue that wasn't considered to be serious by coach Mike Macdonald. On Monday, the veteran wideout relayed that his lack of activity was maintenance related, and he's healthy and ready to go to begin the 2024 campaign. The Seahawks won't post their first injury report until Wednesday, at which point how he's listed will confirm his standing. Prior to racking up 894 receiving yards in 17 regular-season games last year, Lockett had put together four consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns.
