Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Offers spark off bench in loss
Champagnie finished Monday's 131-121 loss to the Spurs with 14 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block across 18 minutes.
Champagnie shifted back to Washington's bench in the return of rookie first-rounder Kyshawn George (ankle), but the move didn't stop him from turning in his highest scoring output since the Jan. 1 win over Chicago. Even so, Champagnie hasn't done enough overall to warrant much fantasy attention when he isn't able to function with the starters. Through 20 appearances from the second unit, the 23-year-old has averaged 5.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.6 steals in 11.9 minutes.

Wizards' Tristan Vukcevic: Standout showing off bench
Vukcevic ended with 18 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 20 minutes during Monday's 131-121 loss to the Spurs.
Although Vukcevic fell a lone point shy of his career high, he was still able to establish a new season high Monday. The rebuilding Wizards have been rolling with veteran Richaun Holmes as their starting center in the absence of rookie first-rounder Alex Sarr (ankle), but Vukcevic will remain a candidate for increased playing time down the stretch of the campaign. The 2023 second-rounder has averaged 9.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 threes in 14.0 minutes while shooting 53.2 percent from the field across his last seven contests.

Wizards' Jordan Poole: Dreadful shooting performance
Poole notched 16 points (4-18 FG, 2-13 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Monday's 131-121 loss to the Spurs.
It was a dreadful shooting performance from the floor by Poole, who struggled mightily to find open looks against the strong defense of San Antonio's new-look backcourt. Even so, the 25-year-old combo guard has remained productive with averages of 20.7 points, 4.9 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 0.7 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.7 threes in 31.6 minutes across his last seven games. With Kyle Kuzma having been traded and the rebuilding Wizards' plans for Khris Middleton (ankles) being unclear, Poole is locked in as the team's top playmaker and scoring option going forward.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Retreats to bench Monday
Champagnie will come off the bench in Monday's matchup against San Antonio, Michael C. Wright of ESPN.com reports.
With Kyshawn George returning from a one-game absence due to an ankle injury, Champagnie will revert back to the bench. Over his last five outings, the 23-year-old has averaged 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 blocks across 17.2 minutes per contest.

Wizards' Kyshawn George: Starting Monday
George will start in Monday' s game versus the Spurs, Michael C. Wright of ESPN.com reports.
The rookie will supplant Justin Champagnie in the starting five Monday. George has started in each of his last eight appearances, during which he has averaged 9.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 three-pointers and 1.8 assists across 26.5 minutes per contest.

Wizards' Colby Jones: Recalled Monday
The Wizards recalled Jones from the G League's Capital City Go-Go on Monday.
Jones will potentially make his Wizards debut and rejoin the parent club for its matchup against the Spurs on Monday. The 22-year-old appeared in a tune-up game for the Go-Go in Monday's 119-114 G League loss to the Oklahoma City Blue, during which he posted five points (2-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists and four steals across 32 minutes. Jones could struggle to find significant minutes in Washington's rotation, though he'll likely have a clearer path to playing time than he did with Sacramento.

Wizards' Kyshawn George: Available to play
George (ankle) is available to play Monday against the Spurs.
George was able to shake off a questionable tag to get the green light for Monday. In his last eight starts for Washington, George produced 9.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 26.5 minutes per contest.

Wizards' Colby Jones: Off injury report for Monday
Jones (recently traded) is off the injury report for Monday's game against the Spurs.
Jones is expected to make his Wizards debut Monday after having been traded to Washington on Thursday. The 22-year-old had received little playing time for the Kings toward the end of his tenure, and he'll likely have to compete for playing time as a depth piece in the backcourt.

Wizards' Anthony Gill: Won't play Monday
Gill (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against San Antonio.
Gill will miss his second consecutive contest due to a right ankle sprain that he sustained during Friday's loss to Cleveland. His next opportunity to suit up will come in Wednesday's matchup against the Pacers.

Wizards' Kyshawn George: Chance to suit up Monday
George (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against the Spurs.
George missed Saturday's loss to Atlanta, which was the second night of a back-to-back set, but has a chance to suit up Monday. He's started his last eight appearances, averaging 9.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals-plus-blocks in 26.5 minutes per game.

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Won't play Monday
Sarr (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Spurs.
Sarr is slated to miss a seventh straight game. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday against the Pacers, which is Washington's final contest before the All-Star break. Richaun Holmes should continue to start in Sarr's absence.

Wizards' Khris Middleton: Likely out through break
Smart (recently traded) isn't expected to make his Wizards debut after the All-Star break, sources tell Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
Before being acquired from the Bucks on Wednesday, Middleton had been operating under a playing-time restriction as Milwaukee eased him back from offseason surgeries on both of his ankles. Though Middleton appears to be healthy, the non-contending Wizards aren't in any rush to have the 33-year-old make his team debut, so he'll get some extra time to get integrated in Washington. The Wizards plan to take a similar approach with another veteran trade-deadline pickup in Marcus Smart, who will also be held out along with Middleton through the All-Star break before both players likely suit up Feb. 21 versus the Bucks. Middleton had averaged 12.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game over 23 appearances with the Bucks prior to being traded.

Wizards' Marcus Smart: Debuting after All-Star break
Smart (recently traded) isn't expected to make his Wizards debut after the All-Star break, sources tell Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
Smart isn't dealing with an injury, but after being acquired from the Grizzlies on Thursday, the Wizards will give the veteran guard some extra time to get integrated with his new team. Smart will miss Monday's game against the Spurs and Wednesday's game against the Pacers, but he will likely be available to make his Wizards debut in a Feb. 21 matchup against the Bucks. The Wizards plan to take a similar approach with another veteran trade-deadline pickup in Khris Middleton and hold him out through the All-Star break, making it unclear at the moment how the two players will fit with the team's young core.

Wizards' Bilal Coulibaly: Inefficient 17 points in loss
Coulibaly posted 17 points (6-20 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, one block and one steal in 35 minutes during Saturday's 125-111 loss to Atlanta.
Coulibaly's shooting efficiency has been mostly inconsistent this season, but he's now hit double-digit scoring figures in 10 of his last 12 outings. The second-year forward has averaged 14.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 threes during that stretch. Coulibaly's workload and defensive contributions have also remained steady, with averages of 1.4 steals, 0.8 blocks and 33.1 minutes.

Wizards' Carlton Carrington: Career-high 23 points Saturday
Carrington finished Saturday's 125-111 loss to the Hawks with 23 points (9-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt), four rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 38 minutes.
The 2024 first-rounder enjoyed arguably his best night of the season Saturday, submitting a career-high 23 points and five three-pointers to pace the team. It's been a shaky rookie season for Carrington, but he's beginning to trend up recently with the rebuilding Wizards. Over his past three contests (all starts), Carrington has averaged 17.3 points, 6.7 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 4.0 threes in 36.2 minutes.

Wizards' Corey Kispert: Another double-digit scoring output
Kispert contributed 13 points (6-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt), seven rebounds and five assists in 35 minutes during Saturday's 125-111 loss to the Hawks.
Kispert continued to provide instant offense off Washington's bench Saturday, reaching double-digit scoring figures for the 10th time in his last 14 outings. However, the 25-year-old has averaged 11.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.7 threes in 27.2 minutes during that time. Therefore, his fantasy appeal remains strictly tied to points and triples in category-based leagues.

Wizards' Colby Jones: Won't play Saturday
Jones (recently traded) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Hawks.
Jones was shipped to the Wizards ahead of the NBA trade deadline but won't make his debut with his new team Saturday with the deal still pending. The 22-year-old guard played in only 14 of the last 16 games for the Kings before being traded to Washington. He hasn't made much of an impact from a fantasy perspective this season, averaging 1.1 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in 5.4 minutes per contest.
