Kings' Devin Carter: Out with illness
Carter (illness) is out for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
After not being listed on the initial injury report, Carter is a fairly late scratch for the Kings on Tuesday. The 2024 first-rounder will be hoping to feel better in time for Wednesday's clash against the Hawks. With Carter sidelined against Denver, Nique Clifford and Keon Ellis are candidates for an uptick in minutes.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Good to go Tuesday
Sabonis (ribs) is good to go for Tuesday's game against Denver, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Sabonis was able to shake off a questionable tag for this contest. The Kings are off to a shaky start, but Sabonis' production has been solid with 15.3 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists through seven regular-season appearances.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Listed as game-time call Tuesday
Sabonis is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets due to a left ribcage contusion.
Sabonis continues to find his name on the injury report while dealing with bruised ribs. He was able to play through the issue Sunday, tallying 20 points and 13 rebounds in 30 minutes, so there's certainly a possibility that he suits up again Tuesday night.

Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Double-double in Sunday's loss
Achiuwa ended with 12 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds and one block in 29 minutes during Sunday's 144-117 loss to the Timberwolves.
Making his first start for the Kings after signing with the team last week, Achiuwa produced his first double-double in three games as he saw a significant bump in his workload. Keegan Murray (thumb) still doesn't have a clear timeline for his return, so Achiuwa figures to hold down the fort at the four until he's cleared to get back on the court.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Resumes double-double streak
Sabonis closed Sunday's 144-117 loss to the Timberwolves with 20 points (5-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and one steal over 30 minutes.
After missing the prior two games with a rib contusion, Sabonis returned to the court no worse for wear as he produced his seventh straight double-double to begin the season. The 29-year-old center continues to see reduced distribution duties in the Kings' revamped lineup, with his 3.9 assists a game being a huge drop from last season's 6.0 per game, to say nothing of the career-high 8.2 a game he delivered in 2023-24. Sacramento's 3-7 start to the campaign has the team near the bottom of the Western Conference standings, however, and a shakeup that boosts Sabonis' usage -- or sends him to another team entirely -- could be on the horizon if things don't turn around.

Kings' Zach LaVine: Team-high 26 not enough Sunday
LaVine racked up 26 points (10-17 FG, 6-9 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 30 minutes during Sunday's 144-117 loss to the Timberwolves.
After a couple of quiet shooting performances sandwiched around Tuesday's scratch due to a back issue, LaVine looked more like his usual self Sunday as the veteran wing led the Kings in scoring and sank nearly half of the team's 13 total three-pointers. LaVine has topped 25 points in six of his nine appearances this season, averaging 25.2 points, 3.4 threes, 3.3 boards and 2.0 assists while shooting 52.7 percent from the floor, 90.9 percent from the charity stripe and 43.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Pours in 22 points
DeRozan closed with 22 points (7-11 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 29 minutes during Sunday's 144-117 loss to the Timberwolves.
DeRozan was a bright spot in an otherwise dreadful night for the Kings -- not a single starter eclipsed 30 minutes due to the lopsided score. The Kings are off to a shaky 3-7 start, and if things don't turn around soon, the rumor mill is likely to start churning.

Kings' Maxime Raynaud: Recalled to NBA
Sacramento recalled Raynaud from the G League's Stockton Kings on Sunday.
After producing 18 points (8-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 15 rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 37 minutes during the G League Stockton Kings' 102-97 loss to the San Diego Clippers, Raynaud was quickly recalled in order to provide emergency depth to Sacramento's front line.

Kings' Russell Westbrook: Coming off bench Sunday
Westbrook won't start in Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Precious Achiuwa will get the starting nod Sunday, pushing Westbrook to the second unit. Over four appearances off the bench so far this season, the veteran guard has averaged 10.8 points, 5.3 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 24.3 minutes per contest.

Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Starting Sunday
Achiuwa will start Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Achiuwa will enter the starting lineup in just his third game since joining the team. In his previous two games, he averaged 4.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13.0 minutes per contest, although he'll likely see an uptick in minutes Sunday.

Kings' Drew Eubanks: Reverting back to bench Sunday
Eubanks won't start in Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
With Domantas Sabonis (ribs) returning from a two-game absence, Eubanks will retreat to the second unit. Over his last five games off the bench, the big man has averaged 5.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per contest.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Will suit up Sunday
Sabonis (ribs) will play in Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.
Sabonis will shed his questionable tag due to a left ribcage contusion and return from a two-game absence. Over six regular-season appearances thus far, the big man has averaged 14.5 points, 14.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.2 steals in 34.7 minutes per contest.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Questionable for Sunday
Sabonis (ribs) is questionable to play Sunday against the Timberwolves.
Sabonis has missed the past two games after taking an elbow to the ribs from Nikola Jokic on Monday, which has resulted in Drew Eubanks, Precious Achiuwa and Maxime Raynaud splitting the five-man minutes. It'll be more of the same if Sabonis can't give it a go Sunday, with Eubanks likely drawing another start.

Kings' Zach LaVine: Regresses with nine points in loss
LaVine provided nine points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Friday's 132-101 loss to the Thunder.
LaVine posted his lowest total of the season during the blowout loss, and the result marked his only single-digit scoring total as well. Friday's game was an outlier, as the veteran is currently averaging 25.1 points per game and is often the Kings' leader in the box score.

Kings' Drew Eubanks: Fills in with low rebound total
Eubanks registered 16 points (8-11 FG, 0-2 FT), one rebound, two blocks and one steal across 24 minutes during Friday's 132-101 loss to the Thunder.
Although Eubanks scored 16 points as Domantas Sabonis' (rib) replacement, it was hard to grab many boards during Isaiah Hartenstein's career game. Maxime Raynaud actually led the team in rebounds, thanks to garbage time with Hartenstein off the floor.

Kings' Russell Westbrook: Leads team with 24 points
Westbrook totaled 24 points (9-17 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and nine assists over 35 minutes during Friday's 132-101 loss to Oklahoma City.
Westbrook was with the first unit for the third consecutive time in the loss, and it appears that his presence is more than a passing trend. He's successfully unseated Malik Monk and Keon Ellis as Dennis Schroder's counterpart in the backcourt, and is posting solid totals along the way. Although he was off the fantasy radar to begin the season, he's viable now in his new role.
