Howard reclaimed a spot in the rotation after missing Orlando's previous five contests due to a sprained left ankle, providing a nice spark off the bench with a strong showing from three-point range. The second-year wing is more likely to see his role decline than grow in the near future, as the Magic could get all of Gary Harris (hamstring), Cole Anthony (illness), Jalen Suggs (back) and Goga Bitadze (concussion) back in action within the next few games.

Da Silva notched 16 points (5-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 29 minutes during Thursday's 101-79 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Da Silva returned to the Magic bench due to the return of Franz Wagner (oblique), but still put up strong numbers while leading all second-unit players in scoring and finishing as one of two Orlando players with 15 or more points in a losing effort. Da Silva has recorded at least 15 points in nine contests, his second while coming off the bench. He has posted at least 15 points and five boards on five occasions.

Magic's Franz Wagner: Goes off for 20 points in return
Wagner (oblique) contributed 20 points (9-19 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and one block in 24 minutes during Thursday's 101-79 loss to the Trail Blazers.
After missing the previous 20 games while recovering from a torn right oblique, Wagner stepped right back into the starting five Thursday, albeit with a minute restriction in place. The fourth-year wing made the most of his limited time on the court, leading the team with a 42.8 percent usage rate and putting up nearly a field-goal attempt per minute. He'll likely operate on a restriction for at least a few more games but should be ready to handle a consistent 30-plus-minute role at some point in early February.
