Tatum (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game versus the Suns, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
Tatum sprained his left ankle against Sacramento on Monday and is now expected to remain sidelined versus Phoenix. However, the star forward not initially being ruled out is a good sign that he avoided a significant injury. If Tatum is ultimately downgraded to out, Al Horford and Sam Hauser should receive increased playing time.

Celtics' Baylor Scheierman: Plays well in win
Scheierman provided nine points (3-6 FG, 3-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 28 minutes during Monday's 113-95 victory over Sacramento.
Sam Hauser (back) and Al Horford (rest) both missed this contest, while Jayson Tatum (ankle) left the game early. Scheierman made the most of his opportunity with a productive showing on both ends of the court, and he's likely to get more chances to impress down the final stretch with the Celtics looking to keep their key players fresh for the postseason.

Brown (knee) closed with nine points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds and one steal in 26 minutes during Monday's 113-95 win over Sacramento.
Following a three-game absence due to a right knee posterior impingement, Brown returned to action Monday and was eased back in with a relatively light workload. Jayson Tatum sustained an ankle injury late in the contest, however, which could result in Brown shouldering a larger load if Tatum is forced to miss future games. On the other hand, Brown could also be subject to some games off during the final few weeks of the regular season, as the Celtics are sitting comfortably in second place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Sprains ankle, doesn't return
Tatum didn't return to Monday's game against the Kings after suffering a left ankle sprain in the third quarter, finishing with 25 points (8-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 4-8 FT), eight assists and seven rebounds in 26 minutes.
Tatum was able to remain in the game to shoot his free throw after Domantas Sabonis was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul that inadvertently caused Tatum's ankle injury. After the free-throw attempt, Tatum limped to the locker room before the team listed him as doubtful to return due the ankle injury. While Tatum wasn't made available to speak to the media after the game, he appeared to be in good spirits at his locker and was spotted wearing sneakers on both feet, per Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, which is typically a good sign following an ankle injury. The star forward can be considered day-to-day until the team has time evaluate Tatum's ankle further.

Tatum exited in the third quarter of Monday's game against the Kings after suffering an apparent left ankle injury, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.
The superstar forward came down on an opposing player's foot, and he appeared to be in a significant amount of pain while staying on the floor for an extended period. Tatum was able to stay in and shoot free throws before heading to the locker room, and he was able to walk off the court without any assistance. The Celtics should provide an update on Tatum's status shortly.
