  • Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Back in bench role

Ighodaro isn't in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Pelicans. The Suns will roll with Mason Plumlee at center for the second time in three games since Jusuf Nurkic (thigh) went on the shelf, sending Ighodaro to the bench after posting a decent final line Tuesday against the Spurs. The Marquette product is averaging 3.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 16.5 minutes over his last four appearances as a reserve.

  • Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Getting starting nod

Ighodaro is in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Spurs. Ighodaro will replace Mason Plumlee in the starting lineup Tuesday. Ighodaro recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in 32 minutes during his only other starting appearance this season.

  • Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Starting Monday

Ighodaro will enter the starting lineup in Monday's game against the Magic. With Kevin Durant (calf) and Jusuf Nurkic (ankle) out, Mason Plumlee and Ighodaro will shoulder the workload in the frontcourt. The rookie has carved out a significant role over his last five outings, during which he has averaged 6.4 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 60.0 percent from the field across 19.8 minutes per game.

  • Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Grabs seven boards in reserve role

Ighodaro contributed six points (1-2 FG, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one block in 27 minutes during Friday's 99-83 loss to the Thunder. Jusuf Nurkic is off to an inconsistent start, and he was a step slower in the loss while dealing with an ankle injury. While it's still early in the season, Ighodaro is making an impact with the second unit and proving worthy of his second-round selection last season. The Marquette product is unlikely to ascend up the depth chart, but he's an apt fill-in for Nurkic in the event of another injury.

  • Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Plays 27 minutes in preseason win

Oghodaro tallied 12 points (6-8 FG), five assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block across 27 minutes in Sunday's 118-114 preseason win over the Lakers. Ohhodaro's 27 minutes of playing time were the most on Phoenix on Sunday, and he was one of seven Suns players to score in double digits. The rookie second-round pick is competing against Mason Plumlee and Bol Bol for backup minutes at center behind starter Jusuf Nurkic (finger).

  • Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Dishes out nine assists

Ighodaro logged four points (2-3 FG), nine assists, five rebounds and a block across 26 minutes of Saturday's 87-77 loss to the Kings in Summer League. Ighodaro hasn't been lighting up the point column during Summer League, but he's flashed his ability to make winning plays. He's shot 13-for-26 from the field in five Summer League appearances while averaging 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.4 combined steals-plus-blocks per game. The Marquette product could push Mason Plumlee for minutes behind starter Jusuf Nurkic this season.

  • Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Drafted by Phoenix

The Suns drafted Ighodaro with the No. 40 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Ighodaro spent the last four years at Marquette before declaring for the NBA Draft. As a senior in 2023-24, he averaged 13.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 steals in 36 games. At 6-10, Ighodaro has the size and all-around skillset to contribute right away in the frontcourt, likely making him the backup center to Jusuf Nurkic.
