  • Warriors' Quinten Post: Inks deal with Golden State

The Warriors signed Post to a two-way contract Tuesday, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.

Golden State traded for the No. 52 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft to select Post out of Boston College. The rookie big man is now set to split time between the Warriors and their G League affiliate in 2024-25.

  • Warriors' Quinten Post: Makes SL debut

Post (leg) generated 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds, an assist and a steal across 14 minutes of Friday's 90-83 win over the Thunder during Summer League.

Post has been dealing with a minor leg injury he sustained during a pre-draft workout and was held out of the California Classic and early portions of Las Vegas Summer League before suiting up Friday. Post possesses a stretch-big skill set, shooting 38.8 percent from long range across five collegiate seasons while standing at seven feet tall.

  • Warriors' Quinten Post: Not on initial Summer League roster

Post (leg) isn't on the Warriors' Summer League roster, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Post has been tending to a minor leg injury since a pre-draft workout. Per Johnson, Post doesn't know if he'll be able to play in the California Classic but "hopes" to play in the Las Vegas Summer League, which starts July 12. Golden State acquired the rights to Post on Draft Night after he was selected with the No. 52 pick.

  • Thunder's Quinten Post: Traded to Golden State

Post's (leg) draft rights were re-acquired by the Warriors from the Thunder in exchange for cash, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.

Slater notes in acquiring Post, the Warriors are now firmly against the second apron and their roster can't exceed $189.5 million for the upcoming season. That reduces Klay Thompson's potential salary and complicates the Chris Paul guaranteed date, which is Friday. Slater also notes Post has a minor leg injury that could prevent him from playing in Summer League. When asked about Post's fit with the team, general manager Mike Dunleavy responded, "We believe in the shooting. His free-throw shooting is really good. His pick-and-pop percentage is really good. ... You want players who can do more than one thing. We think he rebounds, defends at a level at the rim that's NBA acceptable. Good passer."

  • Thunder's Quinten Post: Selected by OKC in second round

Post was drafted by the Thunder with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, which was acquired from the Warriors for Lindy Waters, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reports.

As a senior at Boston College, Post was named to the ACC All-Second Team and earned ACC All-Defensive Team honors. He's a 7-footer who can stretch the floor and block shots, giving him a similar vibe to Chet Holmgren, though Post weighs 244 pounds. The rookie has also shown some playmaking upside and can finish with floaters on the short roll. He'll presumably work for backup center minutes but could share the floor with Holmgren at times too.
