  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Out again Wednesday

Porter (ankle) will not play Wednesday versus Minnesota, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports. Porter will be sidelined for a third consecutive contest due to a sprained left ankle. His next opportunity to take the court comes Sunday versus his former team with the Rockets coming to town.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Won't go vs. Blazers

Porter (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Portland, Joey Linn of SI.com reports. Porter is set to miss his second straight game due to a left ankle sprain, though he remains day-to-day moving forward, according to Linn. His next chance to suit up will arrive Wednesday against the Timberwolves.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Ruled out Sunday with ankle injury

Porter (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports. Porter had a productive outing off the Clippers' bench in Friday's loss to the Timberwolves when he tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals over 24 minutes. However, he may have sprained his ankle during that game, and it's severe enough for him to be sidelined for Sunday's contest. Terance Mann, Bones Hyland and Kris Dunn should all be candidates to see increased minutes off the bench Sunday due to Porter's injury. Porter's next chance to play will be Tuesday against Portland.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Productive off bench Friday

Porter had 17 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and three steals across 24 minutes during Friday's 93-92 loss to the Timberwolves. Despite coming off the bench, Porter finished as the Clippers' second-best scorer behind only James Harden, who posted 20 points in this low-scoring contest. The 17-point output was a season-high mark for him, and it also represented his fourth game with double-digit points off the bench in the Clippers' last six contests. Porter has scored at least 10 points in 10 different games this season.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Off injury report for Wednesday

Porter (head) is not on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Magic. Porter hit his head on the hardwood after a hard foul during the fourth quarter of Monday's win over the Warriors. The 24-year-old went back to the locker room and was unable to return; however, he is expected to suit up Wednesday. Across his last five outings, Porter has averaged 8.8 points, 2.4 assists and 1.6 rebounds across 17.6 minutes per game.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Headed to locker room

Porter walked to the locker room during the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Warriors after appearing to hit his head, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports. Porter was fouled under the basket, and it looked like he hit his head on the hardwood on the way down. He ultimately got up and made his way to the locker room, but his night is finished after he was unable to come back onto the court to shoot his awarded free throw. Porter was later spotted on the bench giving his coach a thumbs up, so while he couldn't return, he appears to be fine, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com. James Harden will likely eat up the rest of the minutes at point guard with only eight minutes remaining.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Scores 15 points off bench Friday

Porter posted 15 points (5-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-6 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 25 minutes during Friday's 125-104 loss to the Rockets. Porter was the only player not named James Harden who reached the 15-point mark for the Clippers in this woeful offensive performance. Porter has shown he has the ability to produce at a high level, but the lack of consistency on a game-to-game basis and his reserve role are two factors that conspire against his fantasy upside. As a result, he is a decent streaming option in some formats, but not much else.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Hands out season-high seven dimes

Porter recorded six points (3-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 19 minutes during Monday's 113-104 win over the Spurs. Porter has been a fairly small part of the Clippers' rotation, playing 16.4 minutes per game. He tends to run hot or cold. Monday was a mix of both, as he went 3-for-10 from the field but handed out a season-high seven assists. Chances are, he'll only make waves in fantasy when a backcourt mate is sidelined.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Leads bench in scoring Thursday

Porter accumulated 14 points (6-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block in 17 minutes during Thursday's 125-119 loss to the Suns. Porter scored a bench-high 14 points while leading the entire squad in usage percentage Thursday. The 24-year-old has scored in double figures in each of his last two games, and he has played double-digit minutes in all five regular-season outings. Porter has averaged 7.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals across 15.4 minutes per game.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Ready for season opener

Porter will play in the Clippers' season opener against the Suns Wednesday night, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports. While Porter's NBA career has endured a lot of uncertainty heading into this season, it appears he will be ready to make his return versus Phoenix after playing overseas. He looks to be the primary backup to James Harden as the team's facilitator for the year.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Not with team Thursday

Porter (teeth) is not with the Clippers for Thursday's preseason game against the Kings and won't be available, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. It's unclear if the dental issue is serious, but Porter has been playing in the preseason, so perhaps this is just a minor procedure. The coming days will be decisive in determining whether Porter will be available for the regular-season opener against the Suns on Oct. 23.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Drops team-high 18 points

Porter amassed 18 points (8-15 FG, 1-3 3PT, 1-1 FT), six assists, five rebounds and three steals in 19 minutes during Monday's preseason victory over the Mavericks. Porter put together an impressive performance, leading the Clippers with 18 points despite coming off the bench. While James Harden has the starting point guard spot locked down, both Porter and Kris Dunn will be competing for backup minutes. Of the two, Porter clearly has the offensive upside, making him an intriguing target towards the end of drafts.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Will participate in team activities

Porter will be permitted to participate in team activities as the NBA continues its investigation regarding his arrest last September, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. Porter was arrested on an assault charge due to a domestic incident that occurred in September of 2023. While Porter has signed a two-year deal with the Clippers, it is unclear if he will face any discipline from the league during the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Clippers' Kevin Porter: Returning to NBA with Clippers

Porter and the Clippers agreed to terms Sunday on a two-year deal, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. According to Kelly Iko of The Athletic, the second year of the deal is a player option, and both years are for the veteran's minimum and are fully guaranteed. Porter didn't play in the NBA this past season after being arrested on an assault charge on a domestic incident that occurred in September, with the Rockets trading him a month later to the Thunder, who immediately waived him. In January, Porter accepted a plea deal in relation to the arrest, then played overseas in Greece in the spring. Though Porter's legal situation looks to be resolved, it's unclear whether he'll face discipline from the NBA during the 2024-25 season now that he's resurfaced in the league with the Clippers. Over 59 regular-season appearances with the Rockets during the 2022-23 campaign, Porter averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 34.3 minutes per game. Even if Porter isn't subject to any sort of suspension, he won't be in store for nearly as large of a role with LA as he had previously handled in Houston.

  • Kevin Porter: Headed to Greece

Porter agreed Sunday to a contract with Greek club PAOK for the remainder of the 2023-24 season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Porter hasn't played at any level this season since being waived in October by the Thunder, who acquired him from the Rockets after he arrested on an assault charge in a domestic incident that occurred Sept. 11. In January, the 23-year-old reached a plea deal in a New York City court of third-degree reckless assault and second-degree harassment for which he will complete a 26-week counseling program to effectively clear his criminal record. Though the plea deal was a positive development from a legal standpoint, Porter's off-court issues may make it difficult for him to make a return to the NBA down the road.

  • Kevin Porter: Reaches plea deal for charges

Porter reached a plea agreement in New York City court Tuesday of third-degree reckless assault and second-degree harassment in the domestic case involving his former girlfriend stemming from his Sept. 11 arrest, Adrian Wojnarowksi of ESPN reports. According to Porter's lawyers, he'll now have to complete a 26-week counseling program within the next year before he's then able to withdraw the plea. At that point, Porter would be sentenced for time served on the harassment count, which would effectively clear his criminal record. Just over a month after Porter was arrested, the Rockets traded him to the Thunder, who subsequently waived him. While the plea agreement represents a positive development for Porter from a legal standpoint, his history of troubling off-court behavior means that he's unlikely to be signed at any point in the near future.

  • Rockets' Kevin Porter: Not part of team moving forward

The Rockets informed Porter (personal) on Monday that he will not be part of the team moving forward, Chris Mannix of SI.com reports. Porter was arrested on assault charges in New York City in mid-September and is still facing potential legal punishment. It was reported that the Rockets were attempting to trade the 2019 first-round pick, but given he's been the culprit of numerous off-the-court incidents since coming into the NBA, it seems unlikely any team would be willing to give up any assets to acquire Porter. "The allegations against [Porter] are deeply troubling," Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said. Porter averaged 19.2 points in 59 games last season and is owed $15.9 million in 2023-24.

  • Rockets' Kevin Porter: Being shopped by Rockets

The Rockets are looking to trade Porter (personal) after he was arrested and charged with assault earlier this week, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. With Porter facing potential legal punishment alongside league discipline following his arrest, the Rockets are attempting to move on from the 22-year-old. Considering Porter has experienced multiple off-the-court issues during the last five years, teams could feel uneasy about acquiring him, making him a possible cut candidate if the Rockets can't find any takers.

  • Rockets' Kevin Porter: Arrested on assault charges

Porter was arrested and charged with assault in New York City on Monday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Police were dispatched Monday to a New York hotel, where Porter was arrested on assault charges and taken into custody. In addition to legal ramifications, Porter could face discipline from the team and the league following Monday's incident.

  • Rockets' Kevin Porter: Not playing in season finale

Porter has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Wizards due to right knee soreness. The Rockets have nothing to play for in the season finale except their pride and trying to improve their odds at a higher pick in the draft, so it makes sense to rest their starting point guard, especially since he's suffering from soreness ahead of this season finale. Porter will end the 2022-23 season averaging a career-best 19.2 points per game while adding 5.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game.
