  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Season-high 40 points in loss

Herro notched 40 points (14-27 FG, 10-17 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists, five rebounds and four steals across 42 minutes during Tuesday's 123-121 overtime loss to Detroit. Herro caught fire from beyond the arc while setting an NBA Cup record with 10 made threes. He also set a season high in both points and steals in the loss. The sharpshooter has been spectacular in the 2024-25 campaign, during which he has averaged 24.9 points, 5.3 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 0.7 steals across 33.5 minutes per game in 10 regular-season outings. Herro has shot 50.9 percent from the field and 47.9 percent from downtown thus far.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Drops game-high 26 in win

Herro contributed 26 points (9-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes during Sunday's 95-94 victory over the Timberwolves. With Jimmy Butler (ankle) unavailable, Herro stepped up and led the charge for the Heat. The 24-year-old guard has scored 24 or more points and drained at least four three-pointers in four straight games, averaging 26.3 points, 5.8 assists, 5.5 boards and 4.5 threes during that stretch while shooting 53.6 percent from the floor and 47.4 percent (18-for-38) from beyond the arc.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Season-high 11 assists

Herro chipped in 24 points (10-21 FG, 4-10 3Pt), seven rebounds and 11 assists across 40 minutes during Friday's 135-122 loss to the Nuggets. Herro recorded season highs in assists and rebounds while scoring at least 24 points for a third straight game. During that stretch, he's averaged 26.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists in 36.3 minutes per game. Jimmy Butler (ankle) left the contest early, and if he's forced to miss time, Herro would likely take over as Miami's go-to offensive player.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Listed as available for Friday

Herro is dealing with a lower back contusion but is listed as available for Friday's game against the Nuggets. This is a new injury for Herro, but it appears minor. He has not missed a game this season and is on a hot streak, scoring at least 27 points in three of his last four appearances. During that stretch, Herro has averaged 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 31.0 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Catches fire against Suns

Herro contributed 28 points (9-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds and six assists in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 115-112 loss to Phoenix. On a night when the other four Heat starters shot 14-for-46 (30.4 percent) from the field, Herro needed to step up offensively. He did just that, collecting a team-high 28 points while tying for the team lead in assists. Herro's off to a strong start in 2024-25, averaging 22.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists across 31.2 minutes on 50/46/82 shooting splits.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Strong production in narrow loss

Herro amassed 27 points (9-18 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one block over 34 minutes during Monday's 111-110 loss to the Kings. This was Herro's second-highest point total of the season and the third time he's surpassed 20 points through six games. Despite the inconsistent production, Herro is averaging 21.8 points per game, which would be a career-high mark.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Goes for 34 points in loss

Herro ended with 34 points (12-20 FG, 8-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 116-107 loss to the Knicks. Herro had his best performance of the young season by a wide margin, putting up season-high marks in points and assists while tying his best output in the rebounding category. The Heat have endured a rough start to the season on the offensive end of the floor, but Herro has been putting up strong numbers, averaging 22.3 points per game and shooting an impressive 43.2 percent from deep through four contests.

Herro will start Wednesday's regular-season opener against Orlando. As expected, Herro will open the 2024-25 campaign at the shooting guard spot for the Heat. • Heat's Tyler Herro: Will play Wednesday

Herro (rest) isn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Magic, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. As expected, Herro is good to go for the regular season after sitting out the preseason finale for rest purposes. Herro has struggled to stay healthy in the early stages of his career, but he's averaged at least 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in three straight campaigns.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Won't play Friday

Herro is out for Friday's preseason game versus the Grizzlies for rest purposes, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. Herro will sit out Miami's preseason finale alongside most of the team's starters. The 24-year-old guard should be good to go for the Heat's regular-season opener against Orlando on Oct. 23.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Scores 19 points vs. Atlanta

Herro finished Wednesday's 120-111 preseason win over the Hawks with 19 points (7-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal over 23 minutes. Herro had his highest scoring output of the preseason Wednesday despite playing the second leg of a back-to-back. He's coming off a 2023-24 campaign during which he averaged a career-high 20.8 points per game along with 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 0.7 steals over 33.5 minutes. However, Herro appeared in just 42 games (40 starts) due to multiple injuries, and his health will be a major factor in the Heat's quest to return to the NBA Finals after failing to make it past the first round of last year's Eastern Conference playoffs.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Solid outing in preseason debut

Herro amassed 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals across 15 minutes in Sunday's 101-99 preseason win over the Pelicans. Herro impressed in his preseason debut after missing time due to a groin strain. The sharpshooter played only 15 minutes while tying Duncan Robinson (18 minutes) with a team-high 12 points. Herro is coming off one of his best statistical years, during which he averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from deep across 33.5 minutes per game. However, the 24-year-old played a career-low 42 regular-season games due to a litany of injuries -- most notably an ankle sprain, foot tendonitis and a hyperextended knee. Herro also has yet to eclipse 70 regular-season appearances in his five-year career.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Available Sunday vs. New Orleans

Herro (groin) is available and starting in Sunday's preseason game versus the Pelicans, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Herro will return to game action after sustaining a groin strain that held him out of Tuesday's preseason-opening win against the Hornets. The sharpshooter was able to put up shots without an issue during Friday's shootaround, though it is unlikely he will receive a full workload during his preseason debut.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Practices Friday

Herro (groin) was active during Friday's practice and put up shots afterwards, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. Herro is dealing with a groin strain that held him out of Tuesday's preseason game against the Hornets. While the sharpshooter is not 100 percent, he is expected to be fully available for Opening Night against the Magic. Herro's next chance to feature during the preseason will come Sunday versus the Pelicans.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Dealing with groin strain

Herro won't play in Tuesday's preseason game against the Hornets due to a right groin strain. Herro is coming off an injury-plagued 2023-24 campaign, during which he made a career-low 42 regular-season appearances. Per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, the hope is that it's a minor injury and Herro will be back on the court soon. However, Herro has never played in more than 67 regular-season games in a season, so this is still a concerning update. The Heat have five preseason games before starting the regular season against the Magic on Oct. 23.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Ends season plagued by struggles

Herro ended Wednesday's 118-84 loss to the Celtics in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 15 points (6-19 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 35 minutes. Herro was forced to embrace a more prominent role on offense due to the absences of Jimmy Butler (knee) and Terry Rozier (neck) in the series against the Celtics. While the numbers were decent across the board, he struggled badly in terms of efficiency and shooting percentages. Over the five games of the series, Herro made just 38.5 percent of his shots from the field and 34.9 percent of his three-pointers. He averaged 16.8 points per game, but that was not enough to lift Miami to victory against the team with the best record in the NBA.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Poor shooting effort in Game 3

Herro finished with 15 points (5-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes during Saturday's 104-84 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Herro had a rough outing Saturday, as he had a tough time when matched up against Jaylen Brown, and he finished the game with more field-goal attempts than points scored. That's not an encouraging performance from a player that needs to steps up offensively, particularly with Jimmy Butler (knee) sidelined. Through three games in the current series against the Celtics, Herro has gone 16-for-42 from the field while failing to surpass the 15-point mark twice.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Leads offensively in double-double

Herro posted 24 points (7-13 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 14 assists, five rebounds and one steal over 38 minutes in Wednesday's 111-101 win over Boston in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference first round. Herro stepped up big for Miami in a bounce-back win in Game 2, leading all players in the contest in threes made and assists while leading all Heat players in scoring in an impressive outing. Herro set a season high in assists for any Miami player this year, and he tied the second-most dimes by a Heat player in a playoff game in team history. Miami will need Herro to continue to step up offensively, especially with Jimmy Butler (knee) inactive.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Wills team to victory

Herro accumulated 24 points (8-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds and nine assists in 33 minutes during Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game victory over the Bulls. Herro was the star of the show in this one, and while he didn't have a great shooting night by any means, he had a more controlled approach after knocking down nine of 27 attempts from the field Tuesday against the 76ers. The Kentucky product did much more than score in the win, falling just one assist shy of a triple-double. The Heat will need more performances like this from Herro heading into the team's opening-round series against the Celtics.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Paces team in scoring in loss

Herro registered 25 points (9-27 FG, 4-14 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds and nine assists over 41 minutes during Wednesday's 105-104 Play-In Game loss to Philadelphia. Although Herro needed 27 shots to score 25 shots, the uptick in usage rate happened largely due to Jimmy Butler suffering a knee injury in the first quarter, which limited him considerably, and Bam Adebayo had a rough matchup with Joel Embiid. Herro has reached the 20-point mark in four of his last six outings, and considering Butler will miss Friday's win-or-go-home matchup against the Bulls, Herro should be in line for another heavy usage rate against Chicago.
