  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Scores 20, hands out six dimes

Garland notched 20 points (8-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, six assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Saturday's 105-100 victory over the Nets. Garland is enjoying an excellent start to the season, and he reached the 20-point mark for the fourth time across six outings since the beginning of November. He seems to be alternating with Evan Mobley in the No. 2 role on offense behind Donovan Mitchell, but Garland is also posting solid numbers as a playmaker and defender. He's handed out at least six assists in eight of his 11 contests while recording multiple steals four times.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Drops 27 points vs. Golden State

Garland finished Friday's 136-117 win over the Warriors with 27 points (9-17 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six assists, three rebounds and three steals over 30 minutes. Garland was the leading scorer Friday, and while the Cavs led by 41 points at halftime, he still managed to reach 30 minutes of playing time. Garland shot 37.1 percent from three-point range during the 2023-24 regular season, but he has been lethal from beyond the arc this year and is shooting 48.6 percent from deep on 7.4 3PA/G. Through the first 10 regular-season games, Garland is averaging 20.5 points, 6.7 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals over 29.2 minutes per contest.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Just misses double-double

Garland contributed 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt), one rebound, nine assists, one block and one steal in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 victory over the Pelicans. The undefeated Cavaliers are firing on all cylinders right now, and Garland is reaping the benefits. The sixth-year guard has dished at least eight assists in four of the last five contests while scoring in double digits in eight straight. Over the latter stretch, he's averaging 21.4 points, 6.9 assists, 3.6 threes, 2.0 boards and 1.1 steals while shooting 55.2 percent from the floor and an eye-popping 50.0 percent (29-for-58) from beyond the arc.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Shines as top scorer in win

Garland finished with 39 points (15-22 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists and two rebounds in 35 minutes during Monday's 116-114 win over the Bucks. Garland scored a game-high 39 points in an extremely efficient outing. The 24-year-old followed up an 11-point and 10-assist game against the Bucks on Saturday with a lights-out performance from downtown Monday. Garland has averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals across 28.9 minutes per game through eight regular-season outings. The guard has also shot 52.5 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from beyond the arc thus far.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Leader in scoring in victory

Garland contributed 25 points (8-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Friday's 120-109 victory over the Magic. Garland led the way for Cleveland on the offensive side of the floor, leading all Cavaliers players in scoring and threes made in another impressive offensive showcase. Garland has connected on at least three thees in four contests this season, and he has tallied at least 25 points in two outings.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Doubles-doubles in win vs. Lakers

Garland accumulated 12 points (5-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt), 10 assists and two steals over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 134-110 victory over the Lakers. Garland didn't have his best shooting performance and had a rough showing from three-point range, but he salvaged his fantasy line with his 10 assists, representing a season-high mark for him. The emergence of Evan Mobley means Garland may now be the third-best offensive option for Cleveland, which might lead to a slight regression in the scoring column but an uptick in the assists category. Garland is averaging 17.8 points and 6.0 assists per game to open the campaign.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Leads Cavaliers in scoring

Garland chipped in 34 points (12-19 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals over 33 minutes during Monday's 110-104 win over New York. Garland led the Cavaliers in scoring, putting up a season-high 34 points. Even if you include his dud on Opening Night, Garland is off to a strong start. Through four games, he's posting averages of 19.3 points, 5.0 assists, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 3.3 three-pointers while hitting 54.7 percent of his shots from the field.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Struggles with shot in opener

Garland totaled seven points (3-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt), one rebound and six assists across 23 minutes during Wednesday's 136-106 victory over the Raptors. The Cavaliers cruised their way to a 30-point win over the Raptors in this season opener, but Garland didn't do much outside of handing six assists and struggled badly with his shot. The talented floor general should find a way to turn things around sooner rather than later, as he's averaged at least 18.0 points per game in each of the past three seasons. But he might be in line for fewer touches going forward, as Evan Mobley is likely to operate as the Cavaliers' second-best option on offense behind Donovan Mitchell.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Six swipes vs. Pistons

Garland finished Wednesday's 108-92 preseason loss to Detroit with nine points (3-10 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two assists, one rebound and six steals over 25 minutes. Garland struggled with his shot Wednesday, but he made up for that on the defensive side of the floor as he was responsible for six of the Cavaliers' 13 steals in the loss. Garland missed 19 games in 2023-24 due to a fractured jaw, and upon his return he averaged 16.6 points, 6.9 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals across 33 minutes per game over 37 regular-season contests.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Back in starting lineup

Garland (rest) will start Wednesday's preseason game against the Pistons. Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Caris LeVert and Evan Mobley will all return to action after missing Cleveland's previous preseason contest. Garland's stats took a turn for the worse last year, but he was battling the lingering effects of an early-season injury and is looking for a bounce-back campaign now that he's healthy.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Won't suit up against Indiana

Garland won't play in Thursday's preseason game versus the Pacers, Evan Dammarell of FearTheSword.com reports. Although Garland hasn't suffered any injury, the Cavaliers are opting to sit all of their starters for Thursday's contest. Garland should be available for Wednesday's preseason matchup with Detroit.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Leads offensively in Game 4 loss

Garland accumulated 30 points (12-27 FG, 4-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 40 minutes during Monday's 109-102 loss to Boston in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Garland led all Cavaliers in scoring while connecting on a quartet of threes, handing out a team-high-tying assist total and adding a pair of steals in a well-rounded Game 4 against the Celtics. Garland, playing with more weight on his shoulders to lead the short-handed Cavaliers offensively, posted his highest scoring total of the postseason thus far. He has recorded at least 14 points and four assists in all four games against Boston in the semifinals.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Poor shooting display Tuesday

Garland had 14 points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt), three rebounds, five assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 120-95 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Garland is in line for a rough matchup in this series, as he'll have to deal with two excellent defenders in Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, so his Game 1 display is not entirely surprising. He didn't have his best performances in the first-round series against the Magic either, and he's averaging just 14.8 points and 5.4 assists per game through eight playoff appearances. In fact, Garland has failed to surpass the 15-point mark in six of his eight playoff outings, a clear downgrade after averaging 18.0 points per contest during the regular season.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Stuffs stat sheet in Game 7 win

Garland finished with 12 points (3-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists and three steals across 30 minutes during Sunday's 106-94 victory over the Magic in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Garland struggled badly from the floor and finished with more field-goal attempts than points scored. However, the speedy point guard salvaged his fantasy performance by delivering decent numbers in other categories. The Cavaliers need Garland to play a more prominent role on offense during the Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup against the Celtics, as he averaged only 14.9 points per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the floor in the first round.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Modest production again

Garland accumulated 14 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one block over 32 minutes during Saturday's 112-89 loss to the Magic in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Garland has yet to score more than 15 points through four postseason games and has shot only 41.9 percent from the field during that stretch. Following back-to-back losses in Orlando to even the series, Cleveland needs more offensive production out of its point guard if the team is going to advance to the next round. During the regular season, Garland averaged 18.0 points on 44.6 percent shooting, including 37.1 percent from deep.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Leads from deep in Game 2 win

Garland posted 15 points (5-11 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four assists, three rebounds and one steal over 32 minutes in Cleveland's 96-86 win over Orlando in Game 2 of the first-round playoff series. Garland had a strong showing from deep in Cleveland's second straight victory to begin the series, connecting on a team-high mark from three while handing out a team-high-tying assist total and ending as one of four Cavaliers with 15 or more points. Garland has provided a nice boost for Cleveland through two games in the first round, posting at least 14 points, four assists and three rebounds in two straight outings.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Healthy to start postseason

Garland (back) isn't listed on the Cavaliers' injury report for Game 1 of the first-round series against the Magic on Saturday. Garland missed the regular-season finale to rest a low back contusion but should be full go to start the postseason. Over his last five appearances, the dynamic guard has averaged 20.2 points, 6.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 steals in 35.0 minutes per game.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Officially out

Garland (back) will not play in Sunday's game against the Hornets, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports. No surprise here, as Garland was deemed doubtful heading into Sunday. He will now set his sights on getting his health back up to par before Cleveland's playoff bid tips off. In his absence, Craig Porter will start at point guard.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Doubtful for Sunday

Garland is doubtful for Sunday's game against Charlotte with a lower back contusion. With the playoffs looming, it appears the Cavaliers will give Garland the night off. Additionally, the Cavaliers have already ruled out Donovan Mitchell (knee) for this contest.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Quiet in victory Friday

Garland amassed 16 points (6-11 FG, 4-5 3Pt), two rebounds and four assists across 29 minutes during Friday's 129-120 win over the Pacers. Garland was noticeably passive in the win, attempting just 11 field goals en route to 16 points. Although he has been able to increase his production over the past two weeks, the same cannot be said for the season as a whole. Given how disappointing he has been, there is a good chance he is available at a nice discount next season, especially if he can take on a larger responsibility on the offensive end.
