  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Will play limited minutes

Coach Steve Clifford said Micic will start but play limited minutes during Sunday's game against the Cavaliers, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports. While the rest of Charlotte's starters -- outside of Tre Mann -- will sit out the regular-season finale, Micic will start but play limited minutes. Micic has struggled over his last three appearances, but overall, he shined after moving into the starting lineup in early March. Over 20 straight starts, Micic has averaged 12.3 points, 6.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 30.6 minutes per game.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Records double-double Sunday

Micic ended Sunday's 121-118 loss to the Thunder with 17 points (6-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, 10 assists and one steal over 31 minutes. Micic has been thriving in a starting role for the rebuilding Hornets, and he's turning more than a few heads with his play, particularly his passing ability and overall vision. This was Micic's third double-double over his last six games, and he's dished out at least eight assists in each of those six outings as well.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Flirts with double-double in win

Micic notched 14 points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, nine assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Friday's 124-115 victory over Orlando. Micic fell one assist short of a double-double, continuing his strong end to the season. Although he has missed a handful of games, Micic has been a great source of assists and steals. The Hornets are playing for nothing at this point, so Micic should continue to log heavy minutes anytime he steps onto the floor.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Probable for Friday

Micic (shoulder) is probable for Friday's game against the Magic. Micic should be back in action Friday night following a one-game absence, which will likely result in fewer minutes for Tre Mann and Bryce McGowens. Check back for official confirmation on Micic's status closer to Friday's tip.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Tagged as doubtful

Micic (shoulder) is doubtful to play Wednesday versus Portland. Micic continues to deal with a right shoulder strain, although he has yet to miss a game during his Hornets tenure. He's trending in the wrong direction for Wednesday's contest, however, which could thrust Tre Mann and Nick Smith into primary ballhandling duties.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Dishes nine dimes Monday

Micic chipped in 13 points (5-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and nine assists in 37 minutes during Monday's 118-104 loss to the Celtics. Micic was able to suit up Monday despite a right shoulder contusion. He is now on a streak of four games registering at least 10 points and eight assists. With LaMelo Ball (ankle) shut down for the rest of the season, Micic will run the Hornets' offense over the final two weeks of the regular season.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Career-high 12 assists vs. Cavs

Micic notched 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt), one rebound, 12 assists and two steals over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 118-111 victory over the Cavaliers. Micic continues to thrive in his new home in Charlotte, with his 12 assists Wednesday surpassing the previous career high of 10 dimes against the Nets on March 9. Micic was inserted into the starting lineup March 3 due to injuries to LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Seth Curry (ankle). As a starter, Micic is averaging 14.0 points on 49.6 percent shooting, 2.5 rebounds and 5.7 assists over 31.4 minutes per game.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Goes for 21 points in loss

Micic closed with 21 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-9 FT), one rebound, three assists and one block across 31 minutes during Friday's 107-96 loss to Phoenix. Micic seems to have taken over the starting point guard role ahead of the final weeks of the regular season, and the veteran has delivered better-than-expected numbers with averages of 16.6 points, 5.9 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game. The Hornets aren't going to the playoffs this season, but Micic could be a valuable addition for fantasy managers in need of a playmaking boost in the fantasy postseason.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Scores season-high 21 points

Micic provided 21 points (8-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals over 29 minutes during Tuesday's 101-89 loss to Orlando. Micic drew a second consecutive start for Charlotte, and if he looked solid in his first NBA start against the Raptors on Sunday, he set up the bar even higher with his numbers Tuesday. The 21-point outing was a season-high mark for the guard, and even though he's not likely to repeat these numbers on a sustained basis going forward, the uptick in workload has translated well to better numbers. Micic is averaging 9.8 points, 5.7 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 0.7 steals per game since the trade deadline.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Solid numbers in first NBA start

Micic totaled 12 points (5-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, six assists and two steals over 36 minutes during Sunday's 111-106 loss to Toronto. The 30-year-old rookie got his first career start in the NBA due to all the Hornets' backcourt injuries, and Micic was able to deliver decent production. He's seen a bigger workload over the last 10 games and held his own, scoring in double digits six times while averaging 8.7 points, 5.9 assists and 1.5 boards over 22.9 minutes a contest. Micic also has six steals in the last five games. If he continues to contribute defensively, he'll have some deep-league fantasy appeal.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Dishes out seven assists

Micic posted 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 24 minutes during Sunday's 93-80 victory over the Trail Blazers. Micic debuted with the Hornets on Feb. 10 after being acquired in the trade that sent Gordon Hayward to the Hornets, and the Serbian guard has been a revelation off the bench for Charlotte. Even though he's not going to be a game-changing player and probably won't rack up stats left and right, he's proving to be an accomplished passer when given enough minutes. In six appearances with Charlotte, he's averaging 9.7 points and 6.0 assists per game.

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Included in deal to Charlotte

The Hornets acquired Micic, Tre Mann, Davis Bertans and two future second-round draft picks from the Hornets on Thursday in exchange for Gordon Hayward, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Micic has seen a minimal role for the Thunder this season, averaging 3.3 points and 2.5 assists in 12.0 minutes across 30 appearances. The 29-year-old rookie has struggled with his efficiency, posting 40.7/24.4/73.7 shooting splits in 2023-24. While Micic is unlikely to garner much fantasy consideration, he could see an increase in playing time in Charlotte.

  • Thunder's Vasilije Micic: Sticks in rotation Monday

Micic registered six points (2-4 FG, 2-2 3Pt), one rebound and one assist over 15 minutes during Monday's 112-105 loss to the Lakers. Micic played at least 11 minutes for the third time in the past four games, scoring six points on two triples. Despite the recent uptick in playing time, Micic has struggled to make an impact this season. He is well outside the top 300 for the season, averaging just 3.3 points and 2.8 assists in 12.5 minutes per game.

  • Thunder's Vasilije Micic: Plays 21 minutes in blowout win

Micic closed with five points (1-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and seven assists over 21 minutes during Thursday's 128-109 victory over the Warriors. After appearing in just three of the Thunder's first 10 games, Micic has totaled 40 minutes over the last two matchups despite the Thunder having a completely healthy roster. However, both of those contests were blowouts, allowing Oklahoma City's reserves to see increased playing time. Micic has been solid when given a chance this year, but it'll be difficult for him to carve out a consistent role in the Thunder's crowded and talented rotation.

Micic will move back to the bench for Tuesday's preseason game against the Bucks, Clemente Almanza of the Thunder Wire reports. Micic finished Sunday's preseason game against the Hornets with six points (3-10 FG, 0-5 3Pt,), eight assists, three rebounds and two steals. The 29-year-old rookie made his second appearance of the preseason after posting seven points and three assists against the Pistons earlier in the week. An accomplished player in the EuroLeague, Micic figures to compete for regular minutes off the bench behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey. For fantasy purposes, Micic is a player worth keeping an eye on in deeper formats -- particularly due to his ability to generate assists.
