Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Will sit out Monday
Porzingis won't play Monday against Miami due to left posterior tibiialis tendon injury management, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
As expected, Porzingis will be held out for the second leg of this back-to-back set for maintenance reasons. Fantasy managers can expect him back Wednesday against Detroit. With Al Horford (toe) also resting Monday, Neemias Queta and Luke Kornet will likely cover most of the minutes at center.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Good to go Sunday
Porzingis (foot) is available for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
Porzingis will suit up while the club works him back to full playing form. The big man has started in each of his two regular-season appearances this year, during which he has averaged 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks across 24.0 minutes per game.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Uncertain to play Sunday
Porzingis is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers due to knee injury management, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
Porzingis recorded 21 points (7-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds and one assist over 25 minutes during Friday's 138-129 victory over the Bulls, but it wouldn't be strange to see him get a day off. Sunday's contest will be the first leg of a back-to-back set, so the Celtics could choose to rest the big man either Sunday or Monday against the Heat. Porzingis has accounted for 37 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 48 minutes in his first two games of the season.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Comes close to double-double
Porzingis closed with 21 points (7-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds and one assist over 25 minutes during Friday's 138-129 victory over the Bulls.
Porzingis played 25 minutes in his second game of the season but looked much better than in his debut. The star big man ended just two boards shy of a double-double, and he's likely to remain in a starting role, though he's also likely to get an occasional day off, allowing Al Horford to move into the starting unit. Porzingis has accounted for 37 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 48 minutes in his first two games of the season.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Limited minutes in debut
Porzingis (foot) finished with 16 points (6-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 23 minutes in Monday's 126-94 win over the Clippers.
As anticipated, Porzingis started but was operating on a minute restriction in his 2024-25 debut, after he had missed the first 17 games of the season while completing his recovery from the surgery he underwent in June to fix a tear in the tissue that holds the ankle tendons in place. Though Porzingis had been expected to require 5-to-6 months of recovery time, he made it back on the court in a little under five months. Aside from some poor shooting from the perimeter, Porzingis more or less looked like himself Monday, and he should see his playing time gradually increase during the Celtics' upcoming games. Porzingis will be a candidate to sit out one half of back-to-back sets for the rest of the season, however.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Starting in season debut
Porzingis will enter the starting five in Monday's game against the Clippers, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Porzingis underwent foot surgery in June and will return to game action earlier than his initial timetable suggested. The big man should be expected to operate under a minutes restriction in his return, though the club is thin at center due to Al Horford (illness) and Luke Kornet (hamstring) being sidelined.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Available for season debut
Porzingis (foot) is available for Monday's game against the Clippers, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
As expected, Porzingis has been upgraded from probable to available and will make his season debut Monday. With Al Horford (illness) and Luke Kornet (hamstring) out, Porzingis will start Monday but probably won't play 30-plus minutes.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Probable for Monday
Porzingis (foot) has been upgraded to probable for Monday's game against the Clippers.
This is a welcome surprise for Boston, as Porzingis was able to beat his initial timetable. He'll likely have some restrictions in his first game back, but no specifics have been reported yet. With Al Horford (illness) and Luke Kornet (hamstring) considered doubtful, Porzingis may step into the starting lineup right away.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Cleared to practice in G League
Boston assigned Porzingis (foot) to the G League's Maine Celtics to take part in practice Monday, Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston reports.
Porzingis is advancing to the next phase of his recovery as he continues to trend in the right direction in his recovery from offseason surgery to repair a tendon in his left ankle. Following Monday's practice, Porzingis will return to Boston, where he will continue to ramp up his workload. A target date for his season debut has yet to be announced, but Porzingis told Ramona Shelburne of ESPN prior to training camp that he expects to resume playing "sometime in December" at the latest, and "hopefully earlier than that."

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Medical staff remaining patient
The Celtics are targeting a December return for Porzingis (foot), but the team plans to remain patient and not rush the big man back to the court, Shams Charania of ESPN said Tuesday during his appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show."
Porzingis underwent foot surgery in June and was given an estimated 5-to-6-month recovery timeline. He hasn't progressed to contact work yet, but he was spotted going through a light shooting workout ahead of Monday's win over the Bucks. The Celtics have four convincing wins to start the season, including double-digit victories over the Bucks and Knicks, so Porzingis and the medical staff will likely remain cautious, even once the Latvian sharpshooter is cleared for game action.
