Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: No restrictions in spring training
Giants manager Bob Melvin said Monday that Lee (shoulder) will have no restrictions at the start of spring training, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Lee is right at the end of a six-month timetable that was provided following surgery in June to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. It's not clear what kind of workouts Lee is able to do currently, but it would appear there are no concerns about his readiness for the beginning of camp and Opening Day. The 26-year-old slashed .262/.310/.331 with two home runs and two stolen bases in his first 37 games for the Giants before going under the knife. He's projected to be the Giants' center fielder and likely leadoff man next season.

Giants' Jordan Hicks: Will rejoin rotation in 2025
Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey confirmed Monday that Hicks will go back into the rotation in 2025, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
It had been the plan and the Giants will not deviate from it even as Hicks struggled to hold up both from a performance and health standpoint in 2024 while making 20 of 29 appearances as a starting pitcher. Hicks finished the year with a 4.01 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 90:41 K:BB over 98.2 frames during his time in the Giants' rotation. He did finish with 109.2 innings, theoretically better setting him up to handle a starter's workload in 2025.

Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Slotted in at second base
Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey said Monday that he sees Fitzgerald as the team's regular second baseman next season, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Posey couldn't comment on the Willy Adames signing yet because it's not official, but with Adames aboard Fitzgerald will slide over to the keystone. The position is not foreign to Fitzgerald, who started four games at second base for the Giants in 2024 and 87 during his time in the minors. Fitzgerald had a mini-breakout with San Francisco this season, slashing .280/.334/.497 while hitting 15 homers and stealing 17 bases over 96 games.

Giants' Kai-Wei Teng: Re-signs with San Francisco
The Giants re-signed Teng to a minor-league contract Nov. 29.
After being non-tendered last month, the right-hander has returned to the organization on a minor-league pact. Teng, 26, spent most of the 2024 season at Triple-A Sacramento, where he put up an 8.60 ERA and 1.81 WHIP over 75.1 innings.

Giants' Ethan Small: Back in San Francisco on MiLB deal
The Giants re-signed Small to a minor-league contract Nov. 26.
Small was non-tendered by the Giants in November but quickly re-signed on a minor-league pact. The left-hander missed much of the 2024 season with an oblique injury and allowed six runs over nine frames at Triple-A Sacramento.

Giants' Willy Adames: Signs seven-year pact with Giants
Adames signed a seven-year, $182 million contract with the Giants on Saturday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Adames slashed .251/.331/.462 with 32 homers, 112 RBI and 21 steals during the regular season in 2024 -- good enough to land the largest contract in Giants franchise history. The 29-year-old infielder immediately gives a power boost to a San Francisco lineup that ranked 15th in the majors with a .396 slugging percentage, and he's a safe bet to play in the field every day after starting all but one of Milwaukee's games last year. Assuming Adames fills in as the Giants' shortstop, the team may now choose to move Tyler Fitzgerald to second base while Brett Wisely gets pushed to the bench.

Giants' Max Stassi: Inks minors deal with San Francisco
The Giants signed Stassi (hip) to a minor-league contract Nov. 19.
Stassi became a free agent earlier this month when the White Sox declined his 2025 option, but he's quickly latched on with a new organization. The veteran catcher had left hip surgery in June and it's not clear whether he will be healthy for the start of spring training. Regardless, Stassi is likely to begin the season at Triple-A Sacramento, as the Giants are set at catcher with Patrick Bailey and Tom Murphy.

Giants' Mike Yastrzemski: Sticking in San Francisco
Yastrzemski agreed to a one-year, $9.25 million contract with the Giants on Friday to avoid arbitration, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
The 34-year-old is entering his final season of arbitration eligibility and was floated as a non-tender candidate, but he's instead set to be back for a seventh season in San Francisco. Yastrzemski played in 140 games during 2024 and hit 18 home runs with a .231/.302/.437 slash line.

Giants' Austin Warren: Settles with San Francisco
The Giants and Warren avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Friday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Warren had qualified for arbitration for the first time as a Super 2 player. The right-handed reliever made six appearances for the Giants in 2024, allowing two runs with a 7:5 K:BB over 10.2 innings of work.

Giants' Carson Ragsdale: Added to 40-man roster
The Giants selected Ragsdale to the 40-man roster Tuesday.
Ragsdale appeared in 27 games between Double-A Richmond and Triple-A Sacramento in 2024, producing a 5.03 ERA and 1.62 WHIP with 57 strikeouts over 53.2 innings in 13 appearances, including 12 starts. The right-hander will likely open the 2025 campaign with Sacramento in an attempt to refine his skills before a potential major-league debut during the season.

Giants' Carson Seymour: Protected from Rule 5 draft
The Giants added Seymour to the 40-man roster Tuesday.
A big 6-foot-6 righty whose groundball rates have typically been above 50 percent thanks to a plus sinker and plus slider, Seymour may profile best as a reliever long term due to his lack of a quality third pitch. He logged a 4.82 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 132 strikeouts in 134.1 innings across 29 appearances for Triple-A Sacramento, and he could work as a spot starter or swing man early this season.

Giants' Kai-Wei Teng: Dropped from 40-man roster
Teng was designated for assignment by San Francisco on Tuesday.
Teng spent the majority of the 2024 campaign with Triple-A Sacramento, producing an inflated 8.60 ERA and 1.81 WHIP with 61 strikeouts over 75.1 innings in 23 appearances, including 13 starts. Additionally, the right-hander gave up 12 earned runs over 11 innings in four appearances with the Giants last year. He'll now be placed on waivers and if he goes unclaimed, he'll likely remain with Triple-A Sacramento ahead of the 2025 season.
