Mariners' Tayler Saucedo: Sent down to minors
The Mariners optioned Saucedo to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Saucedo took Carlos Vargas' spot on the 26-man active roster for a few days while the latter was on paternity leave, but with Vargas getting reinstated Monday, Saucedo will head back to the minors. The lefty reliever has permitted four runs with a 4:3 K:BB across 4.2 frames with the big club this season.

Mariners' Carlos Vargas: Back from paternity leave
The Mariners reinstated Vargas (personal) from the paternity list Monday.
Vargas was unavailable for the Mariners' final three games before the All-Star break while welcoming a new addition to the family, but he will be back in the bullpen for the start of the second half. The 25-year-old has posted a 3.43 ERA and 32:19 K:BB over 44.2 innings this season.

Mariners' Korbyn Dickerson: Nabbed by Seattle
The Mariners have selected Dickerson with the 152nd overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
A righty-hitting outfielder from Indiana, Dickerson slashed .314/.381/.632 with 19 home runs and an 18.8 percent strikeout rate in 56 games this spring. He has graded as a plus runner in the past but only stole five bases this year. Dickerson has significant bat speed and produced impressive exit velocities this year, albeit against weaker competition.

Mariners' Mason Peters: Selected by Seattle
The Mariners have selected Peters with the 122nd overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
A 5-foot-11 left-hander out of Dallas Bapist University, Peters posted a 4.25 ERA with a 12.3 K/9 and 3.4 BB/9 across 42.1 innings during the 2025 season. He started in just four of his 20 appearances.

Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Rebounds against Tigers
Gilbert didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Detroit, allowing two unearned runs on six hits and two walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out nine.
Gilbert had allowed four earned runs in three of his last four starts, but he managed to slow down a strong Tigers offense Sunday. Both runs scored while Gilbert was on the mound came after an error in the first inning. Dillon Dingler delivered the blow with a two-RBI double. Since returning from the injured list June 16, Gilbert has a 4.40 ERA and a 44:9 K:BB across 30.2 innings.

Mariners' Randy Arozarena: Goes yard again
Arozarena went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an RBI double during Sunday's 8-4 win over the Tigers.
Arozarena hit his ninth home run in 13 games, a remarkable stretch for the 30-year-old who homered just eight times in his first 356 plate appearances of 2025. Sunday's outing also marked Arozarena's eighth multi-hit performance in 15 games. He'll take a .251/.357/.463 slash line into the All-Star break.

Mariners' Cole Young: Comes up clutch
Young went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 8-4 win over Detroit.
Young and Jorge Polanco hit back-to-back solo home runs as part of a four-run ninth inning. The long ball was Young's second of his rookie campaign, and he'll take a five-game hit streak into the All-Star break. He's 7-for-18 (.389) with four RBI and four runs scored during that stretch.

Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Displays power, speed
Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an RBI double, an additional run scored and a stolen base during Sunday's 8-4 win over the Tigers.
Rodriguez reached safely in four of his five plate appearances Sunday and swatted a homer for a third consecutive game. The 24-year-old is up to 14 home runs and 17 stolen bases on the season. In his last seven games, Rodriguez is 9-for-29 (.310) with five doubles, seven RBI and nine runs scored.

Mariners' Gabe Speier: Takes fourth blown save
Speier was charged with a blown save in Sunday's 8-4 win over Detroit, allowing one run on one hit in the seventh inning.
Speier was taken deep by All-Star Riley Greene, and saddled with his fourth blown save of the year. Speier had gone four consecutive outings without surrendering an earned run prior to Sunday's hiccup, and he should remain an integral part of Seattle's bullpen as its lone active left-hander. Through his first 36.2 frames, Speier owns a strong 2.70 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 51:9 K:BB with 10 holds.

Mariners' Casey Legumina: Rough start to July continues
Legumina allowed one run on one hit over two-thirds of an inning in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Tigers. He struck out one.
It's been a rough July thus far for Legumina, who's yielded eight runs over 2.1 innings (three appearances) this month to swell his ERA from its June 29 figure of 3.31 to 5.14 following Sunday's showing. Legumina did submit eight consecutive scoreless outings to wrap up June, but he figures to continue working in lower-leverage spots until he gets back on the right track.

Mariners' Griffin Hugus: Snagged in third round
The Mariners have selected Hugus with the 91st overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Hugus, a 6-foot-2 righty, transferred to Miami for his junior year, where he logged a 4.16 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 95:35 K:BB in 93 innings. His fastball tops out at 96 mph and his mid-80s slider is his best offering. It's a nice landing spot for Hugus, given the home park in Seattle and the Mariners' track record for developing pitching.

Mariners' Mitch Garver: Crushes fifth homer in win
Garver went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 win over Detroit.
The 34-year-old veteran backstop got a rare start at catcher to give All-Star Cal Raleigh a respite behind the plate, launching his fifth homer of the campaign. As long as Raleigh is healthy, Garver is likely to continue seeing sparse playing time, even as a designated hitter. Garver has struggled to find a groove, slashing just .219/.310/.344 with four doubles and 21 RBI across 171 plate appearances.

Mariners' Nick Becker: Selected in second round
The Mariners have selected Becker with the 57th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Becker has a strong commitment to Virginia, but he oozes upside and projection as a big-bodied, athletic shortstop from the Northeast. A righty hitter who has grown to 6-foot-4, 190 pounds, Becker is a plus runner who scouts still give a decent chance to stick at shortstop, despite his extra-large frame. He is hit-over-power now, but he is expected to grow into at least power, with a chance for plus power. Assuming he signs, Becker makes for a nice mid-round FYPD flyer in dynasty leagues.

Mariners' Luke Stevenson: Going to Seattle
The Mariners have selected Stevenson with the 35th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
A lefty-hitting catcher from University of North Carolina who turns 21 a week after the draft, Stevenson is a three-true-outcomes type of hitter whose defense behind the plate makes him a better real-life prospect than a fantasy one. He slashed .251/.414/.552 with 19 home runs, a 20.3 percent walk rate and a 24.1 percent strikeout rate in 61 games this spring. He's a strong 6-foot-1, 200 pounds and has a plus arm with a chance for above-average catcher defense. He could be a 20-plus homer hitter who hits for a very low average and a decent on-base percentage if it all works out.

Mariners' Kade Anderson: Lands in Seattle with third pick
The Mariners have selected Anderson with the third overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
The hierarchy of college starters typically evolves throughout the spring, and this year it was Anderson who rushed up draft boards as he struck out double-digit batters in seven of his nine starts for LSU in April and May. Anderson had Tommy John surgery in April 2022 and returned to action as a midweek starter and weekend reliever as a freshman before breaking out this year while leading the nation in strikeouts as a draft-eligible sophomore. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound lefty touches 96 mph with his low-90s fastball that has great movement, and it's his full arsenal of above-average-to-plus offerings that overwhelms hitters. His curveball, slider and changeup, all which will flash plus, move in different directions while coming out of the same arm slot, which has allowed him to toy with college hitters. Anderson had a 3.60 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 170:30 K:BB through 110 innings in 2025. Given that he was limited to 38.1 innings in 2024, he'll probably wait until 2026 for his pro debut, but he could move quickly to the majors from there.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Idle Sunday
Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Polanco will get a breather to close out the Mariners' first-half schedule after he had started each of the team's last seven games. Cal Raleigh will get a day off from catching and will replace Polanco at designated hitter.

Mariners' Donovan Solano: Handling short-side platoon role
Solano is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
After closing June with a .408/.453/.612 slash line over his final 15 games of the month, Solano had started to earn more opportunities against right-handed pitching. However, with his bat having since cooled down -- he's gone 3-for-15 with one walk through six contests in July -- he appears to have since faded back into a short-side platoon role. Solano will be on the bench Sunday for a ninth straight matchup against a right-hander, in this case Jack Flaherty.

Mariners' Matt Brash: Picks up 10th hold Saturday
Brash retired the only two batters he faced to earn a hold in Saturday's 15-7 win over Detroit. He didn't record a strikeout.
The hold was the 10th of the season for Brash, who has thrived as a setup man after beginning the year on the injured list while recovering from 2024 Tommy John surgery. The hard-throwing right-hander appears to be the next man up for save opportunities on occasions where closer Andres Munoz may be unavailable. Through his first 20.2 innings, Brash boasts a 0.87 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB.
