  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Not starting Friday

Dominguez is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Rays on Friday. Dominguez will begin Friday's contest in the dugout after going 0-for-7 with one RBI and five strikeouts over his last two games. Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham and Aaron Judge will man the outfield for the Yankees in the second game of the series.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Smacks three-run double

Dominguez went 3-for-3 with a three-run double in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Royals. Dominguez gave the Yankees the lead in the sixth inning, when he smacked a 96 mph fastball from Angel Zerpa to left field that brought Jazz Chisholm, Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe home. Dominguez has gone 6-for-12 with two walks, two doubles and five RBI over his last four games.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: First day off Monday

Dominguez is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Detroit. It's the first day off this season for Dominguez, who is slashing .242/.342/.424 across his first nine contests. The Yankees will go with Cody Bellinger in left field and Trent Grisham in center for Monday's series opener.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Belts first homer of season

Dominguez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run in Tuesday's loss to Arizona. Dominguez wasn't able to go deep during New York's homer-filled first series of the campaign against Milwaukee, but he joined the party Tuesday with a solo blast in the third inning. The 22-year-old has started in each of the Yankees' first four games of the season (three times in left field and once at DH) and has reached base safely in three of them. He has a 3:2 BB:K so far along with a .273/.429/.545 slash line.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Officially makes roster

Manager Aaron Boone announced Tuesday that Dominguez will be included on the Yankees' Opening Day roster, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports. The 22-year-old experienced some defensive struggles in left field during spring training, but there's never been any real question about whether he would make the season-opening roster. Dominguez had a decent showing at the plate in Grapefruit League action with three homers, two steals and a .267/.302/.467 slash line in 63 plate appearances. He posted a .747 OPS in 26 MLB games across the past two seasons but is now poised to receive his first true opportunity as an everyday player at the big-league level.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Goes deep for second spring homer

Dominguez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk in Thursday's Grapefruit League win over the Tigers. Dominguez put the Yankees on the board in the fourth inning, smashing a 381-foot homer to right field off Jackson Jobe. The long ball was the second of the spring for Dominguez, who is batting .229 with five RBI, seven runs, two stolen bases and 10 strikeouts over 35 at-bats. Dominguez has had some defensive troubles in left field during the exhibition slate, but the expectation remains that he'll be the Yankees' everyday left fielder upon the kickoff of the campaign.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Slugs first spring homer

Dominguez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run Tuesday in a Grapefruit League win over Philadelphia. Dominguez went deep for the first time this spring with a solo shot to center field in the sixth inning. The 22-year-old has had some defensive struggles in left field this spring, but the Yankees appear committed to giving him an opportunity to be an everyday member of the lineup, possibly as the team's leadoff hitter. Dominguez has posted a .200/.238/.350 slash line with four runs, three RBI and a 1:6 BB:K through seven exhibition contests.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: May bat leadoff

Dominguez could bat leadoff in 2025, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Per Hoch, manager Aaron Boone said he believes Dominguez's skill set fits well atop the lineup, pointing to his blend of on-base ability, power and solid base-running skills. Nothing has been decided yet, but it shouldn't be assumed Anthony Volpe will bat leadoff after a second consecutive season with an OBP below .300 in 2024. Hoch also notes the Yankees would prefer to have Cody Bellinger and Jazz Chisholm in a position to drive in runs, but he adds they could be options to lead off if neither Dominguez nor Volpe earns the honor.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Still not starting versus lefty

Dominguez is not in the lineup Thursday for Game 3 of the ALCS versus the Guardians. The Yankees are facing a lefty (Matthew Boyd) for the second time this postseason, and it's the first time they're going up against a southpaw that doesn't have reverse splits (they faced Cole Ragans the first time). Nevertheless, the switch-hitting Dominguez will again yield left field to the left-handed-hitting Alex Verdugo, who has started all seven contests during these playoffs. Dominguez has yet to see any action this postseason.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Out of lineup again for Game 3

Dominguez is absent from the lineup Wednesday for Game 3 of the ALDS versus the Royals. Dominguez started in left field in each of the last five games of the regular season, but he has yet to see any action in the ALDS. The Yankees are again going with Alex Verdugo in left field for Game 3.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Records fifth steal

Dominguez went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 10-1 win over the Orioles. Dominguez's steal was his fifth in as many attempts this season. The outfield prospect is still struggling to hit consistently -- he has just one multi-hit effort in 15 major-league contests, and he's batting .191 with two homers, four RBI and seven runs scored over 54 plate appearances. Dominguez is set to continue sharing left field with the more defensively steady Alex Verdugo.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Dominguez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles. Dominguez started the previous two games and went 2-for-8 with a two-run homer and a stolen base, but he'll sit for Tuesday's series opener versus Baltimore. Alex Verdugo will take over in left field and bat ninth.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Blasts homer in win

Dominguez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Athletics. Dominguez erased the Athletics' early lead with a two-run blast in the second inning. The 21-year-old has struggled with consistency at the plate so far in the majors, notching just one multi-hit effort in 12 games this year. He's collected two homers, four RBI, six runs scored and four stolen bases while batting .200 and slugging .375 across 46 plate appearances.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Getting breather Friday

Dominguez isn't in New York's lineup Friday versus Oakland. Dominguez will get a day off Friday after going 2-for-4 with a double in Thursday's loss. While he sits, Alex Verdugo, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto will form the Yankees' outfield trio.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Goes deep in big win

Dominguez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Mariners. Dominguez took Bryan Woo deep to center in the fifth for his first home run of the season while also forcing Woo from the game. The homer was Dominguez's first extra-base knock and first RBI in seven big-league games this season and he's now worked a walk in four consecutive starts.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Denied Sept. 1 call-up

The Yankees did not recall Dominguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, though he could still join the big club later this month, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. Rather than Dominguez, the Yankees promoted another outfielder in Duke Ellis from Triple-A to fill one of the openings on the active roster, which expanded from 26 to 28 players Sunday. The decision not to promote Dominguez likely stems from the big club not having an everyday role available for the 21-year-old; Alex Verdugo, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto serve as the Yankees' regular starting outfield trio, while Giancarlo Stanton is a full-time designated hitter. Instead, the Yankees will turn to a non-prospect in Ellis to fill out a bench spot as a pinch-running specialist and late-inning defensive replacement, while Dominguez will likely stick around with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the time being to get regular at-bats. As Bryan Hoch of MLB.com notes, Dominguez will retain rookie status for 2025 if he does not exceed 130 at-bats -- he has 35 for now -- with the Yankees this season, which would allow the team to pick up a compensation pick in 2026 if he wins the 2025 American League Rookie of the Year Award. With that in mind, it wouldn't be overly surprising if Dominguez remained at Triple-A until Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's regular season ends Sept. 22.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Returned to minors

Dominguez was returned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. Dominguez came up as the extra man for the Little League Classic and was in the starting lineup, batting fifth while playing left field. He went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts and will now head back to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Up as 27th man

The Yankees appointed Dominguez as the 27th man for Sunday's game against the Tigers in the Little League Classic at Williamsport, Penn. Both teams get an extra player for Sunday's game at a neutral site, and New York will use that roster spot for its top prospect. Dominguez has struggled to a .612 OPS at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre since returning from an oblique injury in late July, though he's hit better recently and has gone 7-for-17 in his past five games. The 21-year-old is in the starting lineup for Sunday's contest but will still return to the minors after the game, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, since there's no clear path to regular playing time with the big club.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Reinstated from Triple-A IL

Dominguez (oblique) was activated from the 7-day injured list by Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Dominguez missed nearly six weeks of action with a strained oblique. The top prospect has slashed .389/.405/.639 with two home runs in nine games during his time with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season and will be a candidate to a promotion to the majors during the second half, particularly if the Yankees aren't able to add the offensive help they desire at the trade deadline.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Playing games soon

Dominguez (oblique) took live batting practice Monday in Tampa Bay and is expected to join Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to play in games "within a week," Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Dominguez sustained a strained left oblique in mid-June and was expected to miss up to eight weeks. However, he's ahead of schedule and will return before August. Still, it's likely that Dominguez will be eased into action. The 21-year-old outfielder has a 1.044 OPS in 37 plate appearances with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season and could be a candidate to join the Yankees later in the season.
