Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Notches fifth save
Faucher gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his fifth save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Pirates.
The right-hander leads the Marlins in saves, one ahead of Jesus Tinoco (forearm), and it's been over two weeks since a Miami reliever other than Faucher picked up a save -- Ronny Henriquez collected one May 25. Faucher's earned his spot with some stingy work that has seen him get scored upon only once in his last eight appearances, a stretch in which he's posted a 1.17 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 5:1 K:BB in 7.2 innings.

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Secures fourth save
Faucher picked up a save against the Giants on Saturday, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning of work.
Faucher was tasked with protecting a one-run lead in the ninth frame, and he was able to work around a two-out single to get the job done. The right-hander is now tied for the team lead with Jesus Tinoco with four saves on the campaign. Tinoco hasn't logged a save since mid-May, but Ronny Henriquez has pitched well and recorded a save May 25 against the Angels. However, Henriquez entered in the sixth inning Saturday with two on and two out in a 1-0 game. The team's bullpen hierarchy remains highly unpredictable, but Henriquez appears to be manager Clayton McCullough's top choice for a high-leverage fireman role, while Faucher -- who has the Marlins' last two saves -- might be settling into a more traditional ninth-inning assignment.

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Earns third save
Faucher tossed a perfect ninth inning with no strikeouts to earn the save in Wednesday's 10-8 win over the Padres.
Faucher was called upon to face the top of the Padres' order and needed just eight pitches to convert his first save since April 22. With Jesus Tinoco struggling and Ronny Henriquez used in the seventh and eighth innings Wednesday, Faucher may be back in the mix for closing opportunities. He ranks second on the team with three saves and owns a 5.21 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB across 19 innings this season.

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Rocked in loss to Cubs
Faucher (2-2) took the loss Tuesday, failing to record an out while coughing up six runs on five hits and a walk in a 14-1 loss to the Cubs.
The right-hander entered the game with the score tied 1-1 in the top of the sixth inning and walked the first batter he faced before getting tagged for five straight singles, with all the runners eventually coming around to score. The disastrous performance snapped a streak of 12 straight appearances without allowing a run for Faucher, but despite that run of success he hasn't recorded a save since April 22 and appears to be firmly behind Jesus Tinoco in the pecking order for closing opportunities.

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Earns second save
Faucher struck out one batter in a perfect inning and picked up a save against the Reds on Tuesday.
Faucher tossed seven of 10 pitches for strikes and had no issue retiring Cincinnati's 8-9-1 hitters in the 4-3 victory. It was his second save of the season and first since April 12. Faucher owns a 4.32 ERA across 8.1 innings. Anthony Bender pitched a scoreless eighth inning and Jesus Tinoco did not pitch after earning saves Sunday and Monday as the closer situation in Miami remains in a committee.

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Nabs first save of season
Faucher struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his first save of the season in a 7-6 win over the Nationals.
Anthony Bender threw 24 pitches Friday en route to his first loss of the season, so Faucher got his turn to handle closing duties Saturday and had no trouble dispatching Washington's 9-1-2 hitters, ending the game by getting James Wood to offer at a curveball in the dirt for strike three. Faucher's had a bumpy beginning to the season, posting a 6.75 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 4:4 K:BB through his first 5.1 innings, but he remains in the high-leverage mix for Miami along with Bender.

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Charged with blown save Wednesday
Faucher coughed up three runs on three hits in an inning of relief during Wednesday's extra-innings loss to the Mets.
The right-hander got the call in the eighth inning with the Marlins protecting a 4-1 lead, but Faucher served up a three-run blast to Pete Alonso to get charged with his first blown save of 2025. The usage alone suggests he's fallen behind Anthony Bender in the pecking order for closing duties, but the bullpen picture for Miami remains cloudy, especially with Jesus Tinoco (back) on the shelf. Over his first three appearances and three innings, Faucher has a 2:3 K:BB to go along with a 9.00 ERA.

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Sharp through three spring outings
Faucher has tossed three scoreless innings across his three Grapefruit League appearances, allowing one hit and hitting another batter while striking out two.
Though the sample size is small, Faucher's excellence thus far in spring could give him an early leg up on emerging as the Marlins' preferred option at closer heading into Opening Day. While his ratios over his 53 total appearances with Miami in 2024 aren't eye-popping (3.19 ERA, 1.40 WHIP), he shined after the All-Star break with a 2.75 ERA (2.10 FIP) and 21.2 K-BB% before spending most of September on the injured list due to a shoulder impingement. Now healthy again, Faucher has resembled the dominant reliever he was over his final two months of the 2024 campaign.
