Brewers' William Contreras: Launches third homer
Contreras went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
The All-Star catcher opened the game's scoring in the first inning by popping a 375-foot, two-run homer off Arizona starter Zac Gallen. After starting out slowly with a .074/.242/.074 slash line across 33 plate appearances, Contreras is currently riding a seven-game hit streak during which he's batting .370 (10-for-27) with three homers, two doubles, 10 RBI and eight runs scored.

Brewers' William Contreras: Smacks first homer in rout
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over Colorado.
Contreras first drove in Jackson Chourio on a single in the third inning, and he later smacked his first homer of the season in the seventh inning to put the Brewers in front 7-1. The star backstop is still slashing just .143/.286/.229 with two RBI over 42 plate appearances so far, but he does have six runs scored and seven walks through his first 10 outings.

Brewers' William Contreras: Getting afternoon off
Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
Contreras will receive his first day off this season after making eight starts at catcher and one at designated hitter through Milwaukee's first nine games. Eric Haase will handle catching duties in the series finale.

Brewers' William Contreras: Punched out twice Monday
Contreras went 0-for-3 with one walk and two strikeouts in Monday's 11-1 loss to the Royals.
Contreras struck out swinging in his first two plate appearances but managed to draw a walk in the eighth inning. The Brewers have struggled offensively through the first four games of the season outside of their nine-run effort in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday, and Contreras has started the year 2-for-14 with one walk, one run and five strikeouts.

Brewers' William Contreras: Displaying Silver Slugger talents
Contreras is 11-for-29 (.379) with two home runs, seven RBI, two stolen bases and a 5:4 BB:K through 12 exhibition games.
The National League's reigning Silver Slugger at catcher has posted a 1.092 OPS this spring, and the stolen bases should not come as a surprise considering he tallied nine of them over 155 regular-season appearances in 2024. Contreras will again be the primary catcher for the Brewers and will occupy a prime run-producing spot in the batting order.

Brewers' William Contreras: Avoids arbitration with Crew
Contreras signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Brewers on Friday to avoid arbitration, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
The new deal also includes a $12 million club option for 2026. Contreras set new career highs last year with 23 homers and 92 RBI while slashing .281/.365/.466 across 679 regular-season plate appearances. The two-time All-Star is expected to continue serving as Milwaukee's everyday catcher in 2025, though he may occasionally move into the DH spot to get Eric Haase some reps behind the dish.
