  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Homers in win

Manzardo went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 6-2 win over the White Sox. Manzardo's sixth-inning homer was the game-winning hit, breaking a 2-2 tie. The round-tripper was his 14th of the season. It was a rare highlight for Manzardo (.217 batting average), and his first RBI in 10 contests. He continues to share the DH role with David Fry, and neither one is making a case to claim full-time at-bats.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Rejoins active roster

The Guardians reinstated Manzardo from the family medical emergency list Thursday. Manzardo will rejoin the team after missing the minimum of three games while tending to a personal matter. He should slide right back into his usual spot as Cleveland's DH versus right-handers, whom he is slashing .220/.292/.402 against this season. Jhonkensy Noel was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Goes on family emergency list

The Guardians placed Manzardo on the family medical emergency list Monday. By rule, Manzardo must miss the team's next three games and a maximum of seven contests. The Guardians could mix and match at designated hitter against right-handed pitching until Manzardo returns to the lineup.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Resting Saturday

Manzardo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers. After going 0-for-5 in Friday's series opener, Manzardo will take a day off to regroup while Jose Ramirez works as Cleveland's DH. Daniel Schneemann will move to third base as a result, and Angel Martinez will start at second.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting in third straight vs. LHP

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs. The Guardians are facing a lefty (Shota Imanaga) for the third game in a row, and the left-handed-hitting Manzardo has been excluded from the lineup for all of those contests. David Fry will get another start at designated hitter Wednesday at Manzardo's expense.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Pokes homer in win

Manzardo went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-6 loss to Toronto. Manzardo entered as a pinch hitter for David Fry in the seventh and finished the game at designated hitter. He eventually launched his 12th home run of the season -- and first in 13 games -- in the ninth inning. Manzardo had a nice start to the season as the team's primary DH -- he homered eight times and had a .557 slugging percentage through the first 26 contests -- but he has since lost playing time to Fry as his power stroke has waned. Since April 30, Manzardo has just four home runs and is slugging .378 over 41 games.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Falling into platoon at DH

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds. The left-handed-hitting Manzardo has produced a .947 OPS in 40 plate appearances versus lefties this season, but he'll likely find himself on the bench more frequently against southpaws while the Guardians have plenty of right-handed bats available off the bench. David Fry will replace Manzardo at designated hitter in Wednesday's series finale while the Reds send southpaw Nick Lodolo to the bump.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Taking seat against lefty

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. With southpaw Brandon Walter on the hill for the Astros, Manzardo will hit the bench for the series finale. Though he's produced a .206/.300/.647 slash line (155 wRC+) over 40 plate appearances versus lefties this season, Manzardo could have to settle for a strong-side platoon role at designated hitter with David Fry now off the IL.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Idle against LHP

Manzardo isn't part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers. Manzardo's streak of eight consecutive starts comes to an end Wednesday as the Guardians face off against southpaw Clayton Kershaw. Jose Ramirez will DH while Carlos Santana plays first base.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Starting Sunday after all

Manzardo will start at first base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Tigers. The left-handed-hitting Manzardo was initially scheduled to receive the day off, but he'll end up having to face southpaw Tarik Skubal after the Guardians made Carlos Santana (leg) a late scratch. Manzando has a surprising 1.139 OPS against southpaws this season, albeit in only 34 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Not starting nightcap

Manzardo isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals. Manzardo will sit out the final game of Tuesday's activities after going 0-for-4 with an RBI and scoring a run during the early game. His absence will move Jose Ramirez to the DH spot, while Will Wilson starts at third base and bats seventh.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: On base four times

Manzardo went 2-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays. Manzardo shook off a 1-for-14 stretch with his fifth multi-hit game of the season. The steal was his first as a big-leaguer and just his fifth since becoming a professional in 2021.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Walks off Minnesota

Manzardo went 2-for-3 with a walk and a walk-off solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win against the Twins. Offense was at a premium Tuesday in Cleveland, but Manzardo had a productive evening and came through in the clutch with a solo homer to break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the ninth inning. The 24-year-old is batting just .227 through 26 games this season, but he's still showcased his power potential with eight long balls. Manzardo has provided a bit more consistency over the past 10 games, however, having gone 11-for-37 (.297 average) with two doubles and three homers.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Out of Sunday's lineup

Manzardo is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Manzardo has a .936 OPS with three homers in his past eight games, but he'll take a seat Sunday even though Boston is sending a righty-hander (Brayan Bello) to the mound. Jose Ramirez is resting his legs as the designated hitter while Will Wilson receives a start at the hot corner.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting against lefty

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees. With a tough lefty (Carlos Rodon) on the hill for New York, the left-handed-hitting Manzardo will get the afternoon off in the series finale. Jose Ramirez will get a day out of the infield and will serve as the Guardians' designated hitter in place of Manzardo, who has gone 6-for-19 with three home runs, two doubles, two walks, seven RBI and four runs over his last five games.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Has RBI in five straight

Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Yankees. Manzardo was in the middle of Cleveland's three-run rally in the sixth inning that erased New York's 2-0 lead. His double plated Nolan Jones to tie the game. It was the fifth consecutive game with an RBI for Manzardo, who's homered three times and knocked in seven over that stretch. The double also extended a hit streak to six games (7-for-22).

Manzardo went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and an additional RBI in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning victory against the Pirates. The 24-year-old drew his fourth start of the season at first base and blasted a long ball for the second consecutive day. Manzardo took southpaw reliever Joey Wentz deep in the seventh inning to stretch Cleveland's lead to 4-1. Manzardo is now slashing .212/.321/.545 with six homers, 16 RBI and 10 runs scored over 81 plate appearances.

Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Pirates. Manzardo gave the Guardians a two-run lead in the seventh inning, when he took the first pitch from Paul Skenes deep to right field for a solo homer. It was Manzardo's fifth homer of the season, which already ties his total from the 2024 regular season. The 24-year-old is top 10 in the American League in both home runs and RBI (13), and he ranks 16th in slugging percentage (.500) to start the year.

Manzardo is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore. Manzardo is just 1-for-14 at the dish over his last five games, so he'll get a day off to regroup. Jose Ramirez is handling designated-hitter duties for the Guardians on Thursday, while Gabriel Arias plays third base and Daniel Schneemann covers second.

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals. Jose Ramirez will get a day out of the infield and will serve as Cleveland's designated hitter in place of Manzardo, who is batting .125 with a 16.7 percent walk rate and 28.6 percent strikeout rate so far in April.
