Rockies' Nolan Jones: Swipes bag Sunday
Jones went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 10-3 loss to the Yankees.
Jones has gone 5-for-22 (.227) with two doubles and four RBI over six games since he returned from a back strain. The outfielder had not logged a stolen base since June 15, and he hadn't attempted one since July 11, which was one game before his second stint on the injured list with back issues this year. He's now at a .205/.304/.314 slash line with three home runs, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored and four steals across 215 plate appearances, a far cry from the .297/.389/.542 line with 20 homers and 20 steals he posted in his breakout campaign a year ago.

Rockies' Nolan Jones: Returns from IL
The Rockies reinstated Jones (back) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Jones was placed on the injured list just before the All-Star break due to a low-back strain. He was sent out on an extended rehab assignment prior to being activated, playing in 13 games between Single-A Fresno and Triple-A Albuquerque while slashing .333/.455/.733 with four home runs and 14 RBI. Jones should regain a regular spot in the Colorado outfield against right-handed pitching, likely forming a platoon with the righty-hitting Jordan Beck. To make room on the 26-man roster for Jones, Colorado optioned Hunter Goodman to Albuquerque.

Rockies' Nolan Jones: Resumes rehab assignment
Jones (back) resumed his rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, coming off the bench and drawing a walk in his lone plate appearance.
The 26-year-old outfielder had been on de facto paternity leave since Saturday, per TheDNVR.com. Jones has now gone 5-for-16 with two home runs and six walks through the first six games of his rehab assignment, but he could end up sticking around with Albuquerque through the weekend as he looks to regain his timing at the plate following the brief shutdown. Once activated from the 10-day injured list, Jones should displace Jake Cave as the Rockies' top option in left field.
