Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Bounces back with smooth save
Scott earned a save against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.
Scott blew a save opportunity while giving up three runs (two earned) over 1.2 frames Tuesday, but he was right back on the mound one day later despite having thrown 28 pitches in that outing. This time the southpaw got the job done, throwing 12 of 14 pitches for strikes and fanning two batters en route to an impressive 1-2-3 frame. Seven different Dodgers relievers have a save this season, but Scott is the clear leader of the pack with 10 saves (no other Dodgers pitcher has more than two). As such, he should be viewed as one of fantasy's most desirable relievers despite the fact that he'll occasionally be used in high-leverage situations before the ninth inning.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Blows save Tuesday
Scott allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and struck out two over 1.2 innings, taking a blown save in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Diamondbacks.
Scott was called on to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning but surrendered a one-out solo shot to Gabriel Moreno. Despite that hiccup, Scott stayed in to begin the 10th and promptly allowed a two-run blast to Corbin Carroll. Luckily for Scott, the Dodgers were able to rally in their half of the 10th to help him avoid the loss. This ended his 7.2-inning scoreless streak. He's now 9-for-12 in save chances while adding four holds with a 2.42 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:1 K:BB over 22.1 innings this season. Scott has been the Dodgers' primary closer for much of the season, but manager Dave Roberts doesn't hesitate to utilize the southpaw earlier to protect a lead.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Returns to closing duties
Scott struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 14-11 win over the Diamondbacks.
Since Scott's April 22 blown save versus the Cubs, he had logged 4.2 scoreless innings with a 6:1 K:BB, but he earned just two holds in that span. The Dodgers turned to Kirby Yates and Evan Phillips (elbow) for one save each during that stretch, and Matt Sauer earned a four-inning save as well. Scott is more of a stopper than a closer currently, as it looks like the Dodgers are prepared to deploy him whenever necessary to protect a lead. He's still the leading candidate for saves with nine of them in 11 chances while adding four holds, a 1.93 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 19:1 K:BB across 18.2 innings this season.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Serves up game-tying homer vs. Cubs
Scott blew the save Tuesday against the Cubs after giving up a solo home run in the ninth inning. He struck out one.
Summoned to protect a 10-9 lead in a back-and-forth battle, Scott was one out away from nabbing the save before serving up a long to ball to Miguel Amaya. It was the second blown save of the year for the 30-year-old left-hander, who has still worked to an impressive 2.77 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 11:0 K:BB through his first 13 innings. Although the Dodgers aren't short on other high-leverage arms with closing experience, Scott should still remain the favorite for saves going forward despite Tuesday's hiccup.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Completes shutout of Texas
Scott allowed one hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Rangers.
Scott put away the Rangers for his second save of the series and finished off a five-inning scoreless relief effort by the Dodgers bullpen. He's now worked seven straight scoreless innings and is tied for second in baseball with eight saves.

Scott allowed two hits in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.
Scott made things a little interesting by putting two runners on base with one out, but he induced a double-play grounder from Josh Jung to end the threat. Scott is up to seven saves in eight opportunities, and he's added two holds. The 30-year-old southpaw has a 2.45 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 10:0 K:BB over 11 innings this season. He's not overwhelming with velocity, but he is one of the Dodgers' most trusted relievers, so he should remain the primary closer as long as he's getting the job done.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Strikes out side for sixth save
Scott earned a save against the Rockies on Wednesday, allowing one hit and striking out three batters in a scoreless inning of work.
Scott was tasked with protecting a one-run lead in the ninth inning. The lefty allowed a two-out single but otherwise overwhelmed Colorado, recording all three of his outs on punchouts. Scott needed just 10 pitches to record that trio of strikeouts, and he notched an impressive six whiffs on those offerings. He is tied for the third in the league with six saves on the season and has posted a standout 10:0 K:BB over 10 innings.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Notches fifth save
Scott earned a save against the Rockies on Monday, allowing two hits and striking out one batter over one scoreless inning.
It wasn't the easiest save for Scott, as he allowed two of the first three batters he faced to reach base while trying to protect a two-run ninth-inning lead. However, the left-hander recovered to retire the final two batters of the frame, resulting in his fifth save. Scott has emerged as the Dodgers' top option for ninth-inning work, as he's converted five of six save opportunities so far while posting a 3.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 7:0 K:BB over nine innings.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Picks up forth save
Scott worked a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his fourth save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Cubs.
The southpaw fired 12 of 16 pitches for strikes as he delivered his fourth straight scoreless appearance to begin the month of April. Scott has some bumpy performances in March, but he appears to be settling in as the Dodgers' primary closing option, although there have been plenty of chances to go around. Blake Treinen, who worked the eighth inning Friday, also has two saves, and Alex Vesia picked one up when the Dodgers opened their campaign in Tokyo.

Scott earned the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Phillies, allowing one hit in a scoreless ninth inning.
Scott needed only three pitches to lock down his third save of the season. After giving up a leadoff single on his first offering, he quickly bounced back with a double play and a lineout to end the game. Scott remains the favorite for save chances in Los Angeles and now leads the club with two, but Blake Treinen and Alex Vesia also have one apiece.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Blows save Friday
Scott was charged with a blown save in Friday's 8-5 extra-inning win over the Tigers, giving up a run on three hits in an inning of work.
Called in to protect a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth inning, Scott gave up an RBI single to Manuel Margot with two outs to tie the score, and then nearly served up a game-winning double to Riley Greene, only for Margot to stumble coming around third and get thrown out at the plate on a play that required video review. Scott has been handed two of the Dodgers' first four save chances of the season, with Blake Treinen getting Thursday's opportunity after Alex Vesia closed out Game 2 of the Tokyo Series.

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Secures first save of 2025
Scott struck out one and didn't allow a baserunner in a scoreless ninth inning to record the save versus the Cubs in Tokyo on Tuesday.
After signing a four-year, $72 million contract with the Dodgers during the offseason, it's fitting that Scott received and converted the first save opportunity of 2025. The left-hander worked quickly against the heart of Chicago's lineup, throwing eight of 10 pitches for strikes. Scott is expected to be Los Angeles' lead option for the ninth inning, but he could still have some saves vultured since manager Dave Roberts also has Kirby Yates, Blake Treinen and, eventually, Michael Kopech (elbow) at his disposal.
