Blue Jays' Chad Green: Picks up win Friday
Green (3-2) struck out one in a scoreless 10th inning Friday to record the win in a 3-2 victory over the Angels.
He did plunk Nolan Schanuel with a pitch, but it was otherwise another tidy performance from Green. The veteran right-hander has been scored upon only once in his last nine appearances, posting a 1.04 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB through 8.2 innings over that stretch, and he's worked his way back into a high-leverage spot in the Toronto bullpen as a result, collecting two holds and a win in his last four outings.

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Collects fifth hold
Green walked one batter in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning to record his fifth hold of the season during Monday's win over the Yankees.
The veteran righty got the final two outs in the eighth inning before handing the ball off to closer Jeff Hoffman for the ninth. It was Green's first hold since May 22 as his exposure to high-leverage spots has been limited, and he wrapped up June with a 4.35 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 7:4 K:BB over 10.1 innings. With Yimi Garcia (shoulder) set to return this week, Green will likely remain in a middle-relief role rather than being part of Toronto's regular setup crew.

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Takes first loss vs. Texas
Green (1-1) took the loss in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to Texas after allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk in one inning. He struck out one.
Although it was a non-save situation, Green was unable to keep the game tied in a high-leverage spot. It's still been a strong month for the veteran right-hander, who owns a 2.61 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB over 10.1 innings in May. The Blue Jays have displayed continued trust in Jeff Hoffman as their closer while he works through his struggles, but they may have to rely more heavily on Green in high-leverage situations until Yimi Garcia (shoulder) returns to the fold.

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Records first save Thursday
Green picked up the save in Thursday's 8-5 win over the Angels after throwing a clean ninth inning. He struck out two.
Closer Jeff Hoffman, who had worked each of the past two days and gave up six runs across those outings, unsurprisingly didn't get the call in Thursday's save situation, and it was Green who recorded his first save of the year. Setup man Yimi Garcia has also struggled lately, having yielded seven runs over his last two appearances, but Green is still unlikely to see more than the occasional save opportunity while Toronto's top two bullpen arms work to get back on track. Through 17.1 innings in 2025, Green holds a 3.63 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB.

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Picks up second hold
Green retired the only batter he faced Friday to record his second hold of the season in a 3-1 win over the Mariners.
The right-hander got the final out of the seventh inning, getting Ben Williamson to ground out with a runner in scoring position. Green has had an effective start to the season, posting a 3.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB through 8.2 innings.

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Breezing through camp
Green struck out one in a perfect inning during Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros.
The right-hander has been nearly untouchable so far this spring, allowing zero runs or hits over four innings with a 4:1 K:BB. Green recorded a career-high 17 saves in 2024, but the January signing of Jeff Hoffman to be the Blue Jays' closer bumped everyone else in the bullpen down a rung. Green has experience in a setup role as well, producing 10 wins and 19 holds for the Yankees over 67 regular-season appearances in 2021.

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Escapes with save
Green allowed two hits in a scoreless inning Sunday, striking out one and earning a save against the Cardinals.
Green gave up a pair of singles but forced a Jordan Walker pop-out to close out the 3-2 win. Green made his first appearance since coughing up four runs in a loss against the Mets on Sept. 11. It was also his first converted save chance since Aug. 29 after blowing his previous three in September. Green owns a 3.42 ERA with a 44:14 K:BB through 50 innings.
