Mets' Edwin Diaz: Picks up save Sunday
Diaz earned the save in Sunday's 2-0 win over the White Sox, striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.
Diaz picked up his second save in his last three appearances. In those outings, he's racked up seven strikeouts while not allowing a run. Diaz also has at least one strikeout in 18 of his last 19 appearances. For the year, he's compiled 16 saves to compliment a 3.98 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 61:15 K:BB in 40.2 innings.

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Rebounds for 15th save
Diaz earned the save in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.
It was a much-needed outing for Diaz, who allowed four runs on a pair of home runs in his last two appearances, both losses. After surrendering a go-ahead grand slam to Corbin Carroll on Wednesday, Diaz made quick work of the Diamondbacks on Thursday, striking out Lourdes Gurriel and Josh Bell before coaxing a game-ending pop-out from Jake McCarthy. Diaz is now 15-for-21 in save chances with a 4.19 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 56:15 K:BB across 38.2 innings this season.

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Allows grand slam in loss
Diaz (5-3) blew the save and was charged with the loss against Arizona on Wednesday, allowing four runs (three earned) on one hit and two walks over one-third of an inning.
Diaz took over for Phil Maton with two outs and a runner on first in the bottom of the eighth and proceeded to walk the first two batters before surrendering a grand slam to Corbin Carroll. This would put Arizona on top 8-5, leading to the right-hander suffering a second loss in his last two appearances. It marked Diaz's sixth blown save of the season and his first since July 7 against the Pirates. He's now allowed a home run in back-to-back outings and currently holds a 6.75 ERA in August to go along with an 11:3 K:BB over 6.2 frames.

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Takes loss Sunday
Diaz (5-2) took the loss Sunday against the Padres, allowing one run on one hit while striking out a batter for the only out he recorded.
Diaz came into the bottom of ninth trying to send the game to extra innings with the score tied 2-2. He struck out Jake Cronenworth to begin things, but Jackson Merrill connected on a slider and took it over the wall to walk it off for the Padres. It was Diaz's first loss since coming back from the injured list in June and the second run he's given up in 6.1 innings in August. He's only picked up one save in seven appearances this month but does have an 11:1 K:BB over that span. For the year, Diaz owns a 3.62 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 54:13 K:BB in 37.1 innings to go along with 14 saves.

Diaz (5-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Orioles, striking out a pair in a perfect inning.
Diaz made quick work of the middle of Baltimore's lineup, striking out Anthony Santander and Ryan Mountcastle in a clean top half of the ninth before the Mets walked it off with a Jesse Winker homer in the bottom half of the frame. Diaz has wins in back-to-back appearances -- he's allowed just two runs in his last 11.2 innings while logging 18 strikeouts in that span. The 30-year-old Diaz has converted 14 of 19 save chances this season while posting a 3.41 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 12.9 K/9 across 37 innings.

Diaz picked up the save in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday, allowing one run on one hit over one inning while striking out two.
Diaz entered the contest in the bottom of the ninth with a three-run lead and surrendered a leadoff triple to Michael Toglia on the first pitch he threw before then seeing the runner come home on a Jake Cave groundout two batters later. However, the veteran reliever was able to wrap things up with a swinging strikeout of Charlie Blackmon to end the game and secure his 14th save of the campaign. Diaz has now converted each of his last six save opportunities, posting multiple strikeouts in three of his last four appearances. However, he's also allowed a run in two of his last five outings.

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Racks up 13th save
Diaz struck out two over 1.1 perfect innings Tuesday to record his 13th save of the season in a 2-0 win over the Twins.
The Mets closer fanned Byron Buxton and Royce Lewis en route to his fifth straight successful conversion. Diaz has been brilliant since coming off the IL in mid-June, posting a 0.82 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB over 11 innings with two wins and eight saves in 11 appearances.
