Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Cracks three-run homer in loss
Polanco went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Yankees.
Polanco, who has now posted at least one hit in seven of his last nine games, is starting heat up in the power department. The veteran infielder has now smashed three homers over his first 29 at-bats of the month of July. Over his last 58 plate appearances (14 games), Polanco is also slashing an effective .240/.345/.500 with four doubles, seven RBI, seven walks and seven runs scored.

Polanco recently missed a few games with left knee soreness, but he went 3-for-4 with a home run and two doubles in Thursday's game against the Royals. He is slashing .253/.326/.387 with two home runs, seven runs, nine RBI and one steal in his last 20 games. Cal Raleigh is starting at designated hitter while Mitch Garver gets the nod behind the plate.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Taps into power Thursday
Polanco went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two doubles in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Royals.
Polanco opened the scoring with a fourth-inning solo shot. He had gone just 3-for-24 (.125) over his previous seven games, which included a three-game stint out of the lineup due to knee soreness. His homer Thursday was his first since June 13 versus the Guardians. Polanco is now at 12 homers, 39 RBI, 27 runs scored, 11 doubles and three stolen bases while slashing .253/.308/.451 on the year.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Expected back in lineup Tuesday
Polanco will miss a third straight start in Monday's series opener against the Royals due to left knee soreness but is expected back in the lineup Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Polanco tweaked his surgically repaired knee while stumbling over first base in a game last week against the White Sox. The good news is Polanco met over the weekend with the doctor that performed his offseason operation, and he was given clearance to play. Mitch Garver is serving as Seattle's designated hitter for Monday's game versus the Royals.

Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.
Polanco is batting .143 (5-for-35) across his past 10 contests and will sit Sunday for a second straight game. Cal Raleigh will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Mitch Garver (jaw) receives a start behind the plate.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Sitting Saturday
Polanco is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Rangers on Saturday.
Polanco will take a seat after going 1-for-4 with two walks and two RBI during Friday's 7-6 extra-innings win. Julio Rodriguez will serve as the Mariners' designated hitter while Randy Arozarena, Luke Raley and Dominic Canzone start in the outfield from left to right.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Absent from lineup
Polanco is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Minnesota.
Polanco made just one start during the Mariners' three-game set against the Twins. The 31-year-old has posted a .494 OPS since the beginning of May and could be at risk of losing out on a regular spot in the lineup. Cal Raleigh will get a start at designated hitter Thursday, while Mitch Garver handles catching duties.

Polanco is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Homers in Friday's win
Polanco went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs scored in Friday's 7-2 win over the Guardians.
Polanco's bat is coming around -- he's hit safely in eight straight games, going 11-for-34 (.324) in that span. The homer was his first since May 12 versus the Yankees. Polanco is up to a .266/.312/.484 slash line, 11 homers, 33 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases over 56 contests, though his power has dropped significantly since the start of May. He spent much of last month batting second, but he's been between fourth and sixth in the lineup over the last five games, and the move down the order seems to be paying off.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Rare multi-hit game Sunday
Polanco went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Angels.
It was Polanco's first multi-hit game since April 29, as he's been stuck in a deep slump at the plate for over a month now. Over his last 31 games, the veteran infielder is batting .163 (16-for-98) with one home run, three doubles and six RBI. Polanco remains limited as a designated hitter and left-handed batter due to a side injury from earlier this year, as he routinely starts on the bench versus southpaws and last appeared defensively back on May 6, and it's fair to wonder if the issue is hampering his performance at the dish in any way.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Not starting Tuesday
Polanco is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Nationals on Tuesday.
Polanco has been dealing with a sore side for most of the season, which has made it uncomfortable batting as a right-hander. With southpaw Mitchell Parker taking the mound for the Nationals, Polanco will begin Tuesday's game on the bench while Mitch Garver serves as the designated hitter and bats fifth. Polanco has slashed .155/.234/.241 with one home run and five RBI in 64 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Sitting in second straight game
Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
The switch-hitting Polanco still isn't fully comfortable batting as a right-hander while he's been managing a sore side for much of the season, so the Mariners will hold him out of the lineup for a second straight day while the Astros send another southpaw (Colton Gordon) to the bump. Mitch Garver will replace Polanco as Seattle's designated hitter.

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Homers in loss
Polanco went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.
This was Polanco's first homer in May. He's struggled early this month, going 6-for-31 (.194) over his last nine contests, though three of those hits have gone for extra bases. It's likely some natural regression after his sizzling start to the 2025 campaign. The infielder has a .327/.372/.673 slash line with 10 homers, 29 RBI, 17 runs scored, one stolen base and six doubles over 31 games.
