Filip Hallander C | PIT
Penguins' Filip Hallander: Leaving SHL club
Hallander signed a two-year, $1.5 million contract with the Penguins on Monday, per PuckPedia.
Hallander's one-way contract will begin next season. The 2018 second-round selection accumulated 26 goals and 53 points over 51 regular-season games with Timra of the Swedish Hockey League in 2024-25. Hallander has only three games of NHL experience, but he has a good chance at earning a spot on the Penguins' Opening Night roster in 2025-26.

Brandon Hagel LW | TB
Lightning's Brandon Hagel: Injured in Game 4
Hagel (upper body) departed Monday's 4-2 loss to the Panthers in the second period of Game 4 and did not return.
Hagel, who was suspended for Game 3, was forced out of Monday's loss after being on the receiving end of a high hit from Aaron Ekblad, though the play went unpenalized. Hagel's head hit the ice on the way down, so he'll presumably be fully evaluated for a concussion Tuesday. Head coach Jon Cooper provided no information regarding Hagel's status after the contest, which leaves the 26-year-old winger with a day-to-day label ahead of Game 5 in Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

Andrei Vasilevskiy G | TB
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Tending twine in Sunrise
Vasilevskiy will be between the road pipes in Game 4 against the Panthers on Monday, Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun reports.
As if there was any doubt, Vasilevskiy will be tasked with attempting to send the series back to Tampa Bay tied at 2-2. The Russian netminder's workload has increased in each game of this series, and after conceding six goals on 17 shots in Game 1, Vasilevskiy has turned aside 54 of 56 shots (.964 save percentage) over the last two matchups. The Lightning will receive a boost Monday in the form of Brandon Hagel, who was suspended for Saturday's Game 3 win.

Matthew Coronato RW | CGY
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Withdrawn from Worlds
Coronato underwent an MRI that revealed an undisclosed injury, resulting in him being pulled from the Team USA roster Monday for the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
The Flames didn't offer any specifics regarding the nature or severity of Coronato's injury, though they did call it a "preventative decision." In his first full NHL campaign, the 22-year-old winger notched 24 goals and 23 helpers in 77 regular-season games this year. Barring a long-term injury, Coronato should be capable of building on that production heading into the 2025-26 campaign.

Gabriel Vilardi C | WPG
Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Poised to return Wednesday
Vilardi (upper body) is expected to be back in the lineup for Game 5 versus the Blues on Wednesday, John Lu of TSN reports.
Vilardi has been out since March 23 versus the Sabres, a stretch of 15 games on the shelf due to his upper-body issue. The 25-year-old Ontario native should be in the mix for a top-six role, which will likely drop Alex Iafallo down the lineup.

Corey Schueneman D | STL
Blues' Corey Schueneman: Summoned from AHL
Schueneman was recalled from AHL Springfield on Monday.
Schueneman appeared in four regular-season games with the Blues in 2024-25, recording four shots on goal, seven blocked shots and one hit. He had four goals and 20 points in 63 AHL outings during the 2024-25 regular season before adding one goal in three playoff games. Schueneman likely won't see playing time in the NHL playoffs, barring multiple injuries.

MacKenzie Blackwood G | COL
Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Starting in Dallas
Blackwood will guard the road goal against the Stars on Monday in Game 5, per Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now.
Blackwood stopped 23 shots in Saturday's 4-0 win over Dallas to earn his first NHL playoff shutout. He has a 2-2 record with a 1.60 GAA and a league-leading .939 save percentage this postseason. Dallas sits seventh in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 28.5 shots per game.

Ross Colton C | COL
Avalanche's Ross Colton: Ruled out against Stars
Colton (lower body) will not be an option versus Dallas in Game 5 on Monday, Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
Colton has appeared in just one of the Avalanche's last eight contests due to his lower-body injury. During the regular season, the New Jersey native came up just one point shy of reaching the 30-point threshold for the fourth straight year, ending the campaign with 16 goals and 13 helpers in 61 contests. Once given the all-clear, Colton should slot into a bottom-six role for Colorado.

Sergei Bobrovsky G | FLA
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Starting Game 4
Bobrovsky will start Monday's critical Game 4 at home against the Lightning, Panthers play-by-play announcer Steve Goldstein reports.
The Panthers had a chance to grab a stranglehold on the series in Game 3 and Bobrovsky had a tough game, stopping just 17 of the 21 shots he faced. The 36-year-old will get a chance to rebound from that performance in Game 4 and try to capture some of the magic from the first two games where he stopped 39 of 41 shots (.951 save percentage).

Mattias Ekholm D | EDM
Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Doubtful in round two
Ekholm (undisclosed) is reportedly making progress but is unlikely to be available until after the second round, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports Monday.
Ekholm will not only need the Oilers to get past the Kings in the first round -- the series is currently tied 2-2 -- but probably make it to the Western Conference Finals. Getting the veteran back would certainly bolster the Oilers' blue line, considering he put up a solid 33 points in 65 regular-season games when healthy this year.
