  • Ducks' Isac Lundestrom: Sustains injury Saturday

Lundestrom (lower body) did not return to Saturday's game versus the Panthers after being on the receiving end of a knee-on-knee hit.

Lundestrom was ran into by Sam Reinhart, who was given a major and a game misconduct on the hit in the first period. For now, Lundestrom can be considered day-to-day. The Ducks' next game is a rematch with the Panthers on Tuesday in Anaheim.

  • Blue Jackets' Erik Gudbranson: Not close to returning

Gudbranson (shoulder) isn't expected to return until the end of March, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports Saturday.

Gudbranson hasn't been in the lineup since Oct. 15 due to the injury. He had six goals, 26 points, 74 PIM, 92 hits and 170 blocks in 78 appearances with the Blue Jackets in 2023-24. When healthy, Gudbranson will likely serve in a bottom-four role.

  • Blue Jackets' Yegor Chinakhov: Still weeks away from return

Chinakhov (upper body) is still a few weeks away from a return, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Chinakhov likely experienced a setback, as he was reported to begin skating Dec. 18. The 23-year-old's absence reached the 25-game mark Saturday and is likely to be a few more games at a minimum.

  • Jere Innala LW | COL

Avalanche's Jere Innala: Sent to AHL

Innala was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Saturday.

The Avalanche now have just 11 healthy forwards on their roster, so unless Valeri Nichushkin (lower body) is ready to return for Monday's game against Dallas, sending Innala to the minors is probably a temporary maneuver. The 26-year-old Innala has no points, three shots, 17 hits and four blocks in 13 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Craig Smith C | CHI

    Blackhawks' Craig Smith: Remains unavailable

Smith (back) won't play against Vegas on Saturday, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Smith will miss his fifth straight game and probably won't be available for Monday's matchup versus Carolina because he hasn't been skating. He has recorded six goals and 11 points in 30 appearances this season.

  • Golden Knights' Ilya Samsonov: In goal against Chicago

Samsonov will protect the road goal versus the Blackhawks on Saturday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.

Samsonov is coming off his worst start in a while, having allowed four goals on 22 shots to the Predators in a 5-3 loss Tuesday. It was the first time in eight games he's allowed more than two goals. Samsonov's been good while splitting the goaltending duties with Adin Hill. Saturday's game is a great matchup for Samsonov, so he's a strong fantasy option.

  • Sharks' Tyler Toffoli: Late scratch Saturday

Toffoli (lower body) won't play Saturday versus the Islanders, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now.

Toffoli has 17 goals and 30 points in 47 appearances in 2024-25. He was heating up right before this injury, contributing two goals and four points over his past two outings. Carl Grundstrom will draw into the lineup due to Toffoli's absence.

  • Islanders' Alexander Romanov: Expected to play

Romanov (upper body) participated in warmups and is expected to play Saturday versus the Sharks, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Romanov was initially listed as a game-time decision. He is set to return from a three-game absence and should resume his top-pairing role as a shutdown defenseman. He has nine assists, 73 hits and 65 blocked shots over 30 appearances this season.

  • Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Out Saturday

Liljegren (illness) will miss Saturday's clash against the Islanders, according to Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.

Liljegren has four goals, eight points, 40 hits and 49 blocks in 35 appearances between Toronto and San Jose in 2024-25. Henry Thrun will likely draw into the lineup due to Liljegren's absence.

  • Alex Lyon G | DET

Red Wings' Alex Lyon: Suiting up Saturday

Lyon (upper body) will return to the lineup in Saturday's road game versus Tampa Bay.

Lyon will occupy the backup role behind Cam Talbot, and Ville Husso will be a healthy scratch. The 32-year-old Lyon missed four games due to an injury. He could return to the crease in Sunday's road matchup versus Dallas.
