White Sox's Duke Ellis: Demotion coming

Ellis is expected to be optioned to the minors prior to Wednesday's game in Seattle, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

He'll clear out to make room on the roster for the return of outfielder Andrew Benintendi (Achilles) from the 10-day injured list. Ellis spent one week with the big club and was used primarily as a pinch runner, stealing four bases while going 0-for-4 at the plate.
