Melendez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Boston.
With the Royals facing a left-hander (James Paxton) for a second consecutive day, Melendez will take a seat on the bench once again Monday. Garrett Hampson, Kyle Isbel and Hunter Renfroe will fill out the Kansas City outfield from left to right.
